Throwback Thursday: Mister Boogers.
(Mister Boogers, in case you weren’t reading back then, was SUCH a character. We got him in 2003, and he was just full of character and sass and brattitude and we loved him to death. We lost him in July 2009; I can’t believe it’s been almost 5 years – and since we got Jake and Elwood a few weeks later, that means that Jake is almost 5 years old. I also can’t believe THAT!)
One of the first pictures I took of Mister Boogers (would have been from 2003.)
This was probably 2007ish. Not long after we moved into this house, before we had the back yard fenced in, we’d take Mister Boogers for a walk on a leash. He didn’t much care for the leash.
He was such a NUT.
With a young Sugarbutt (2006ish).
And a mostly grown Tommy.
He got along with the other cats; the other cats didn’t always get along with him. I love his “What’s YOUR problem?!” face here.
That is a very young Stinkerbelle, IN BED WITH Mister Boogers. She was a little bit of a hussy in her younger days. (That’s not Corbie in the other cat bed, it was a foster.)
Despite the blur, I love this picture SO MUCH.
I love the bubble over his head (I was blowing bubbles, and the cats were chasing them). It looks like he’s had a Very Good Idea.
Long-suffering Boogie.
We were hatching chicks (that’s an incubator), and he could SEE the chicks and SMELL the chicks, but couldn’t get to them, and it was driving him nuts.
When the chickens were in a corner of the back yard, Mister Boogers was the first one over the fence into the chicken yard. He’d hang out under the coop, or in a nest box, and the chickens thought he was very strange.
This always makes me laugh.
Quintessential Boogie.
One of the last pictures I took of him.
(I didn’t link his pictures to the larger versions at Flickr because I was feeling lazy and couldn’t be bothered, but you can see all the Mister Boogers pictures at Flickr, here – though there are some pictures that don’t have Mister Boogers in them, which makes me think I should go through and organize that set. I’ll add it to my list of stuff to do!)

Orlando teaches Thomas the ways of the FroliCat Pounce. “See, there’s this MOUSE. And he runs around and around and sometimes he STOPS. One day I’m going to get him off that track and EAT him!”
Tricki comes to check things out.
She is just SUCH a gorgeous girl!
Tricki keeps an eye on the red dot.
Orlando keeps an eye on the ceiling fan for Thomas.
“Ah don’t like that fan. It ain’t right!”

PS: If you go to the post from April 17, 2008, you’ll see Kara and her birthin’ story. She was my very first pregnant cat!

Maxi is NOT PLEASED that after a few warm days, the weather turned cold and rainy again. I had to turn on the light inside her house to help keep her warm!

Mr. Boogers was quite pretty!
Tricki has that perfect nose swoop. ::kiss::
I see Thomas’ extra toes!
Awwww, Mr. Boogers.
That’s not Corbie in the other cat bed. It was a foster. Now I badly want to know who that kitty is!
*loves on the current fosters* Extra toes! And a black kitty! 😀
It was Elle, one of five sisters who were with us in late 2007.
Aww, Mr. Boogers. I remember when he ran for office. Such a hard fought campaign. He tried but he could never quite hide the Het from view. I miss him and know you and Fred must miss him terribly. When Jake and Elwood showed up it was almost a magical thing.
I remember: “Mister Boogers hates you!” He was quite the character, still miss his antics on your website.
Aww Mister Boogers! I still feel bad about that 🙁
I love that picture of him hauling ass- just going like a bat out of hell.
I remember opening up the post that announced he was gone and I burst into tears and Jamie must have thought I was completely insane crying about my internet friend’s cat. I think it bothered me so much because he was young and got hurt. He didn’t wander off like Fancypants or die at a ripe old age. And I loved his het.
I still call things I love (my dog, my favorite people) Boogie.
What a legend! I particularly love that last pic of him. Oozing personality even when “off the job” and relaxing.
Aw, how wonderful to see Mister Boogers! He still appears on my twitter list at the top when I type @m! His ‘het’ was just wonderful!
Tricki is gorgeous! How can she not have been adopted yet?! Is it the light or does she have green round her iris then a gorgeous orange shade? You might have mentioned it before…I have had my sleep disturbed by stomping kitties since you had her first time!
Gramma Boogers’s Ye Olde Cat Nippe, I’d buy it! What a character! Much missed.
what a great TBT – love seeing such a grand boy with such personality 🙂
Awww, Mister Boogers, so nice to see you again. I miss his het. Still feel so bad for you guys about his loss.
I still have my mouse pad with Mr. Boogers on it. It has faded a bit so it is no longer in use and has been put in a frame and hung up.
I’m too new of a reader to remember Mister Boogers, but I certainly know that he was one of your previous kitties. Really nice to get to know him better from today’s post. Why was he named Mister Boogers?
Also, I can’t believe he didn’t try to catch/kill any of the chickens. Can cats be allowed near chickens? I always assumed that I should not consider raising chickens because of my cats. Maybe you can set me straight on that.
I’ve always loved that ‘what is your problem’ face.. no matter who does it.
I used to love reading about Mister Boogers. He was such a hoot. 🙂
It was so great to see Mister B. today! He had such a huge personality. And the fact that it’s been 5 years is just crazy.
