Kittens and Mama in the sunshine.
Ciabatta sniffing noses with Crumpet.
The INSTANT after I took this picture, Crumpet gave him the ol’ smackeroo.
A Churu moment with Crouton and Crumpet.
Pita, Ciabatta, Babka and Pumpernickel enjoy the Ham-mick. (Crouton was elsewhere doing important Crouton things.)
Crumpet pie? Yes, please! (My favorite!)
In the pie plate with her green bean nearby.
Crumpet went to Petsmart yesterday. She spent the weekend getting more and more annoyed by her kittens. By yesterday morning, if they so much as looked in her direction she’d growl at them. I did start letting them have the run of the entire upstairs late last week, thinking that perhaps with more room to run around in, she’d be less annoyed by them, but nope.
I did, of course, give her timeouts in the dining room for a few hours each day – but the PROBLEM with that is that she could hear the kittens meowing and racing around and playing, and while she didn’t want them anywhere near her, apparently her protective instincts were still at play and she’d howl at the door until I took her back upstairs. She didn’t want the kittens anywhere near her, but she wanted to be sure they were safe, I guess.
So she’s gone off to Petsmart, and while you might think her kittens have been missing her terribly… I don’t think they’ve even noticed she’s gone.
I will, of course, keep y’all updated on how she’s doing, and when she’s adopted (hopefully her people will be along very soon!) And again: if you’re interested in adopting her, please email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.

As he’s gotten older (he’s 18!), Newt has started producing a LOT of ear wax. His ears are healthy – no mites, no infections, he’s just a “heavy producer” of ear wax, apparently – so we clean his ears regularly. He doesn’t love it, but he doesn’t fight it either, so it could certainly be worse. But anyway, I tell you this just in case you notice his ears aren’t the cleanest ears around – they’re fine, we clean ’em, that’s just what happens when you get old.
(This is the stuff we use on his ears – Zymox Otic Enzymatic Solution – affiliate link for reference, I’m sure you can find it on Chewy too.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.
Crumpet’s like “I don’t know where my people are, but I wish they’d HURRY IT UP already!”
Pita’s got your heart, and she’s ready to put the ol’ chomperoo on it.

Crumpet is getting REAL TIRED of these kittens and their shenanigans. She’s been pretty hissy, growly and slappy with them lately (and I can’t really blame her, they’re a LOT sometimes). Here she is, just trying to have a chill moment in her pie plate, but Crouton keeps messing with her tail.
(In Crouton’s defense, that flicking tail is MIGHTY enticing.)
Babka (left), Ciabatta and Crouton would like you to know that there’s a feather teaser up there.

It’s time to eat, and the kittens (and mama) are hungryyyyy.
Pumpernickel’s all whiskers and smiles.
Good night innernets. (Ciabatta)
Babka sits in my lap and tests the structural integrity of the zipper on my hoodie. She’s got a big career as a quality assurance specialist, that one.
I love Pita’s crazy whiskers in the sunshine.

Tossing toys for the kittens. Ciabatta really likes that little yellow ball!
I love Pumpernickel’s antennae sticking straight up in the middle of his head. He’s trying to send reports back to his home planet. Beep boop!

I’ve opened the door to the kitten room so that they have the run of the entire upstairs during the day (which doubles the amount of space they have.) Crumpet is perfectly fine letting them run and explore while she chills out with me. You get a tour of the upstairs while I look to see just where the kittens have gone (the bathtub is a popular spot, of course.)
Gorgeous, sweet Crumpet is available for adoption, have you heard? If you’re interested, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.
Good night innernets. (Babka (sliding slowly toward sleepytime), Pita (complaining about how sleepy she is), and Pumpernickel (out cold.))
Wahhhh. He’s Da BAYbee! (Pumpernickel)

Pita and Babka have a wrassle.
Continuing to be available for adoption (along with her pie plate!) is Crumpet. She’s about 2 years old, super sweet, and just wants to be petted and petted. If she seems like your kinda gal, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.

When you’re a kitten, everything’s a toy. Door stop? Don’t mind if I wrestle it into submission, roll it across the floor, and fight with it!
Good night innernets. (Pita & Crouton)

Oh, how I love Newt! Such a distinguished old gentelcat, earwax or not!
Aww, Crumpet – I find it quite endearing/funny that she still felt protective it seems even though her own dear offspring were working her last nerve – HA! Hopefully her family comes and finds her asap!
I haven’t been able to get to your blog for over a week, I think, but I’m very glad I eventually managed and was able to read all this about Crumpet and her moving.
This helps make sense of it.
Now for her to get her own family sooooooooon.
