Back in 2016, we had a mother and kittens known as The Fakers. Mom was Regina Phalange and two of her kittens were these guys.
Art Vandelay, left, and Bert Macklin.
They were adopted together – Art Vandelay is now Patches, and Bert Macklin is Periwinkle (Peri) and this is what they look like now!
Patches.
Looks like Peri picked up a touch of the Loons while he was with us.
Watchin’ birds. Kristin said: I walked over to take the picture and they turned to face me. I had to tell them I just wanted a picture before they turned back to the door.
How adorable are they? I love seeing my fosters all grown up, and spoiled rotten.
(Thanks, Kristin!)

The kittens are 9 weeks old as of yesterday, and this is what they look like now!
Their weights (which you can also see at the bottom of their page, here.)
Alejandro: 3 lb, 1 oz
Pablo: 2 lb, 3 oz
Javier: 2 lb, 14 oz
Carmelita: 2 lb, 7 oz
Diego: 2 lb, 13 oz
I’m not surprised to see Alejandro cross the 3 pound mark first – that boy has an APPETITE. Pablo’s still the smallest, but he’s getting closer to the second-smallest, Carmelita. Everyone’s eating well, gaining weight, using the litter box. All good!
Forgotten Felines of Huntsville is now accepting applications for these guys and Isabella. Email them at info (at) ffhsv.org . Alejandro and Javier are a bonded pair and MUST go together. Carmelita, Pablo and Diego can go together or separately, but Forgotten Felines has a kitten policy that kittens must EITHER be adopted in pairs OR there must be a young cat already in the house for the kitten to play with. If you guys had any idea how many kittens or young cats are returned because they have no one to play with and are “too energetic,” you’d see the sense in this policy. A bored kitten is a destructive kitten – which isn’t to say that two kittens aren’t destructive, but at least they have each other to play with and burn off that energy. If you’re looking for a single cat who is snuggly and can be adopted without any other cats? Let me direct you toward Isabella. She’d love to be your lap cat.
The kittens are going for their spay/neuter surgeries on May 6th, and can go home shortly after.
(If you have any questions about any of the kittens or Isabella, ask away.)

Pablo’s the King of the Mountain!
Pablo and Diego get their snuggle on.
Isabella, considering her life choices.
Javier would never bunny-kick his brother in the head and is shocked you’d think him capable of such a thing.
All five kittens, and yes they’re staring up at the feather teaser. On the scratcher is Pablo, and on the floor from left to right: Carmelita, Diego, Alejandro and Javier.
Carmelita couldn’t stand it, and took a leap for the teaser.

Alice Mo the calico sure does love that catnip, yo.

There’s no faking Patches’ and Periwinkle’s handsomeness!!! LOVE the update! Of the Mewchachos, are there any ‘pairs’ that seem more bonded than others? And momma Isabelle – is there any kitten that seems more a ‘momma’s baby’ than the others?
Alejandro and Javier are a bonded pair and MUST go together. Carmelita, Pablo and Diego can go together or separately, but Forgotten Felines has a kitten policy that kittens must EITHER be adopted in pairs OR there must be a young cat already in the house for the kitten to play with. None of the kittens are particularly Mama’s boys (or girl), they all seem to love her the same (which is a LOT. 🙂 )
Oh foster updates! So cuddly and cute, love those folded paws.
I still want all of them but when I discussed this with Penelope (the Queen) she said lightening would strike me dead if I pulled anything like that. So, I gave up the idea.
Thank you for filling in the holes of being alone with only one crazy cat and the other is irreplaceable household.
That’s interesting to me that Javier and Alejandro are so bonded that they need to be adopted together. It seems like most of the kittens you’ve had have been fine just going with any of their siblings. Have you ever had any other kittens who were so bonded they needed to be adopted together? How can you tell that Javier and Alejandro are especially bonded?
I adore Isabelle. Would she do well in a house with elementary age kids and dogs who grew up with cats?
I can’t say for certain how she’d do with dogs, but it’s my feeling that as long as the introduction is a slow one, she’d be fine. She also hasn’t been around kids here, but she loves people (we don’t have a lot of people in and out at this point in time, obviously, but Teresa has been here several times, and Isabella goes right over to her immediately – not to mention that as soon as I brought Isabella home, she was all about making friends.)
