Hi hi! Long time no post, huh? Still no more fosters (I have two weeks and a few more days before I’m cleared by the doctor to get back to life-as-usual and I am COUNTING THE DAYS, believe me!), and the house is awfully quiet without fosters running around.
It’s funny to say that a house with 11 cats could possibly be “quiet”, isn’t it? But it’s true!
But anyway, I have some news about Hoyt, but I want to wait to post about that until I have pictures to share, so it will be a few days before you get to hear about that story (trust me, it’s a happy ending!).
Do you know about Freekibble and Freekibblekat? Every day, you can go to those sites, answer trivia questions, and whether you’re right or not, 10 pieces of kibble is donated to animal shelters (Freekibble is dog-related, Freekibblekat is cat-related).
No surprise, I get the answers right at Freekibblekat more often than I do at Freekibble, but I still visit both sites first thing every morning!
I’m certain that most of you know about The Animal Rescue site, but just in case anyone out there doesn’t – go check it out! You can click on the big purple rectangle, and the value of .6 bowls of food is donated to rescued animals.
(There are other great parts to that site – you can click on the tabs at the top of the page to help donate free mammograms, child health care, and other worthy causes.)
Seriously – it takes maybe two minutes each morning to click around to those sites, and it’s even kind of fun. Great way to start off your morning!
If there are similar sites out there that you know about that I haven’t listed, feel free to share in the comments!

Do you remember that way back when we got Kara, it was as a foster, and she was hugely pregnant, and barely 24 hours after we got her, she gave birth to four kittens?
Well, two of those kittens were adopted by a reader, and she sent me the cutest pictures of them last week, so I have to share!
This is what Dora (then named Inara) looked like way back then:
and here she is now:
It was a cold day, and Dora’s no dummy – she knows how to stay warm!
This is what Nate (then named River) looked like when he was wee:
and here he is now:
If he wasn’t such a shy boy, I’m pretty sure he’d be a supermodel. Or a movie star!
I love seeing pictures of my former fosters!

But wait! We’re not done!
Remember Ouiser, the sweet little gray and white Magnolia? Sure you do, it hasn’t been that long!
Here’s one of the pictures I took of her when she was here:
Well, we got a couple of pictures of her from her new home!
They’ve renamed her Gracie (which is a name I just love for cats – and dogs, obviously!), and they report that she’s very loving and affectionate. They have an older dog and there were no problems with the two adjusting to each other. She’s apparently quite the little lapcat, which does not surprise me at ALL.
If you’re reading this, and you adopted one of my former fosters, don’t be stingy – share the picture love and let us know how your baby is doing!

Great to see you back! I hope you’re feeling better. π
Just -look- at the changes of Kara’s kitties! They’ve really grown up beautifully!
Anxious to hear more about Hoyt. I’m off to click on all the links you posted above π
We’ve been missing you! The pics are just pawsome and it is so great to see them doing so well.
Well hello! I hope you’re recovering well.
I love seeing grown-up photos of kittens, it makes me wish I’d “met” my RD before he was 10 months old…
A happy ending for Hoyt? YAY! Do tell us about it soon!
And thanks so much for the links; it’s good to click for a good cause, or several good causes in this case.
I really enjoy the freekibble site-I guess right a lot and feel smart and when I’m wrong I learn something cool about cats & dogs. I haven’t been to the other site-will check it out.
The kitten to cat pictures are wonderful. Ouiser looks great. She is such a pretty little girl.
Missed you A LOT!!! So thrilled that all is well with Hoyt. (He has part of my heart!)
Glad to hear you are doing well.
We do all these, plus there is also the Care2 site where you can click to donate. Plus they offer free web based email (you can be @animail which I think is cute) if you want something other than the big three (yahoo, google and hotmail).
I didn’t follow at the Kara time but boy she had some cute babies! And wow Ouiser is totally a cat now, isn’t she!
We hope you are feeling good! I am guessing the reason it seems quiet there even with 11 is that they are adults – adults are usually a lot quieter then kittens!
Oh wow, how grown up are the fosters! Ousier is a real stunner!
Good to see you back, I was getting concerned! Make sure your resident babies look after you, all that kitty fluff is a great healer π

They’re not specifically animal-charity related, but http://www.freerice.com/ lets you play several simple games (English vocabulary, world geography, etc.) to help end world hunger–every correct answer donates 10 grains of rice. And another great charity site (well, perhaps not if you’re trying to be productive at work LOL) is http://www.gamesthatgive.net/ They have MANY online games–solitaire, sudoku, lookalikes of Bejeweled, Tetris, Columns, just all kinds of stuff, both arcade-style and not–and all the time you spend playing contributes to your choice of a dozen or so different charities. The money builds up in fractions of a cent at a time–they sell ad space on the site and donate the revenue from that–but I figure that if you’re going to waste a few minutes playing a game of some kind in any case, why not contribute to a good cause at the same time? You do have to register to avoid having a popup thing interrupt you every few minutes, but the only personal info they really ask for is a valid email address, so it’s not any big deal to do so.
Oh, and yay for updates, especially about Hoyt–will be waiting to hear all the details of that.

Wonderful updates and “odds ‘n’ ends”, all of them π Can’t wait to hear the happy Hoyt news π
Hope you feel 100% back to normal soon π
awww gotta love all the pictures :). Look at how much they have grown. They are so adorable.
Hope everything is going well. π
How fun to see how the babies have grown up!

Oh my, I think Inara/Dora looks like she inherited Mama Sheriff Kara’s special ‘don’t mess with me’ face! What lucky kitties to have found great homes! I’ve been visiting the kibble sites for some time, and will check out the others too.
