In case you missed it over the weekend, I posted on Saturday and on Sunday as well, because who doesn’t want to stare at 300 pictures of wee baby kittens? (Also, Everett Peppers was adopted, yay!!!)

After much time spent looking at kitten behinds yesterday afternoon, we are fairly certain that we’ve got three girls and one boy on our hands, Stripey1 being the one boy. Fred is pretty good at this sort of thing, so I’m pretty sure he’s right (but let me add that it’s always a possibility he’s wrong on one or more of the kittens).
Lesley, if you haven’t already, please check your email and get back to me regarding the naming of your kitten!
All continues to be well with the kittens. Every time I go into the room they’re either eating, sleeping, or preparing to do one or the other. Emmy is making sure that they’re fed and cleaned, and in turn we make sure that she’s well-fed and her litter box stays clean! It works well for all of us.
I’m pretty sure this is Stumpy. Such a sweet little face.
I love it when they curl up with her like this.
Oh, look! Time to eat. That only happens constantly, we’re lucky I had the camera with me while it was happening.
Right to left, we’ve got Stumpy, Charcoal, Stripey2, and under Emmy’s arm, Stripey1.
Look at that baby, rolling around while nursing.
And rolling the other way. Also: TOES.

You know, one thing that drives me crazy is how a cat will sleep almost exclusively in one or two places, and then suddenly they just STOP. Sugarbutt used to sleep in the bottom of this Room with a View cat house all the time. Then one day, he stopped. I couldn’t figure out why – had someone peed in it? (The amount of time I spend smelling things to see if they’ve been peed on, well, if I had that time back, I could cure cancer.) No one had peed in it, Sugarbutt just appeared to not want to be there any more. So I was happy to see Miz Poo hanging out in it the other day, and Spanky sleeping on top. The two oldest cats in the house, hanging out together, kind of. Awww.

This is a perfect comment!
Awesome for Everett! Yay little Bouncin’ Man!!
In a couple of those pictures, it looks like Stumpy is curled up in a ball. Man.oh.man.
It’s crazy and amazing how fast the kittens are growing! They’re visibly larger after only 3 days!! Thanks for taking such good care of Emmy so she can take such good care of her kittens.
Now for Sally – come on Sally! Please find your forever home! Yay!! 🙂
Awwwww mama Emmy and her babies – tooo cute – overload of utter cuteness – I can’t melt anymore!! Oh yes I can! LOL!
Take care
x
Someone got themselves a treasure in, Everett! Sally is just being coy till SHE picks her new family!!!
I have a very happy! Contented moggies on all fronts
Lovely babies (and Mom!)
So Glad Everette did not have to stay long in the cage, he might have forgotten how to fly!
I’ve found that cats move their favorite sleeping place once in awhile, too. I believe this is just instinct–don’t stay in one place too long in case other animals catch on. Of course, the area where the sun shines onto the living room carpet is always popular!
Emmy looks so happy with her babies 🙂 How is she doing? Is she getting any more relaxed with you guys in the room? It’s great she doesn’t mind you touching the kittens, tho. 🙂 You and Fred are my heroes!
My crew has always done the same thing. They will use a particular bed or place for weeks, even months, then suddenly abandon it for another. There’s no rhyme or reason to it and they usually end up back where they started eventually. I finally stopped trying to figure it out when I realized it was just another in a long list of cat behaviors that were specifically designed to baffle humans and drive us crazy.
I am soooo happy that you have a momma cat and babies right now! Your website always makes me smile, but with newborn kittens it’s extra awesome! Our cats do the same thing with sleeping spots. Sometimes all it takes is to slightly re-arrange their cat beds or add a new blanket and they seem to think it’s a whole new place to sleep. Ah, the difficult life of a cat…
Wow; she is losing that “kitten weight” fast (I suppose feeding 4 kittens will do that!)…the kittens, on the other hand, appear to be plumping up nicely (and quickly!)
Kittens kittens kittens! Love the kittens kittens kittens!
Miz Poo doesn’t appear to want you to notice her new sleeping spot.. Probably means she’ll have to change it again… eventually. MOL
You are hilarious, Robyn. I swear you make me laugh at least once a day and that says a lot, so thanks. Also? Charcoal is going to be beeyootiful; I can’t wait to see the transformation. And finally, those kitten toes are so cute, all I wanna do is smooch them.
What everyone else said.
