Canasta watches Whist explore.
Uno relives her birth experience.
Whist is all “Come on, Slapjack, let’s go play!”
Then Whist goes for the snuggle with Fizzbin.
The kittens have started noticing toys and even playing with them.
“There they go, exploring again, lady.” Canasta’s got the Ears of Annoyance down.
They find this scratcher fascinating. (That’s Uno.)
Long-suffering. I would feel more sorry for Canasta except that right before that picture happened, I watched her wake up her kittens and call them over to her. So she’s got no one but herself to blame!
We had the drawing for the Phat Cat quilt raffle here Saturday evening. I was curious how the kittens would react to meeting Teresa, because up until now they’ve only come into contact with me and Fred. As it turns out, they didn’t hesitate to sniff her, climb on her, and show off for her. Canasta was perfectly fine with Teresa being around her kittens, mostly wanted to know what was going on. They showed off quite a bit, and here’s the live drawing video, which will hopefully show up for y’all.
If that doesn’t work for you, you can see it (it’s about 15 minutes long) over on Facebook.

Wait, when did they start exploring outside of the crate?!
Whist cracks me up.
Canasta is one of the best moms ever. Or are all moms like that and I just don’t remember?
I don’t see that as a long-suffering look. To me, it looks _smug_.
I love the way Canasta sits! Scottish Folds do that, but Canasta is way too long, lean and angular to be even part Fold.
Today’s photo of her sitting to nurse is the cutest ever, love her arms wrapped around the babies!
Definitely the cutest photo ever!
I have never seen a mother nurse her kittens sitting up like Canasta does. So funny! Have any of your other foster mom’s nursed in that position?
That photo of Canasta sitting up to nurse is so hysterical, it’s a real prize-winner! She’s such a goof!
It reminds me of the Native American “storyteller” figures, with one large figure surrounded by many smaller figures.
