You can’t see Bolitar’s face, but he’s there!
We’ve now hit the point where when we get up and leave the room, the kittens – even if they’re paying no attention to us and are off playing with each other or a toy – try to follow us out the door. Bolitar, especially, runs for the door when I leave. He’s made it out once or twice, then he just stands there and looks around like “It’s a whole new world!” until I pick him up and set him back in the room.
Then he howls at the door. OH does he howl. Sometimes another kitten will join in on the howling, and OH their hearts are just breaking at the injustice of not being able to get through the door, they are PERSONALLY insulted at this turn of events.
Luckily it doesn’t last for long, and then they toddle off to play or sleep or whatever.
“Babies? No. There are no babies in there. I accidentally swallowed a basketball. It’ll go away. Seriously!”
I have to get a shot of Maura from above – she seriously looks like she swallowed a basketball. Her appetite seems to have ramped up – before, when I’d bring her her plate of canned kitten food in the morning and evening, she’d come over and greet me and rub up against me, maybe inspect my litter box scooping technique, and then wander over to the plate. Nowadays, she dives right into the plate of food and doesn’t come up for air until it’s gone.
I guess she needs plenty of food to grow those babies.
I mean, that basketball.
Newt would like Elwood to stop hoggin’ the box. (Those ears at the bottom of the picture belong to Miz Poo, who was sitting on my lap.)

Ohhh, maniacal laughter… gotta love that in a kitten! GD, if I wasn’t 750 miles away, I’d have to square off with you over Corbett! Mine, mine, all mine! 😉 I know when you’re up close and in person looks have little to do with kitten appeal – it’s personality that counts – but dang, Corbett has looks that are hard to resist! The camera loves that kitten! I too am meeelllttting!
Corbett makes me melt!!!
GD & Lisa: Oh, Corbett is as wonderful in person as he is in pictures – he’s a total lovebug. All the Bookworms are snuggly, but Corbett is SUCH a love! 🙂
OMG, the Bookworms are ridiculously cute, even for kittens!
I have to comment! All of the cats/kittens on your blog are precious. That said, these bookworms with their little round heads and teensy round bodies — they are so cute I can hardly stand it!! Oh my goodness. They have an uncanny ability to look totally innocent and totally devious at the same time. Beautiful.
Oh dear god these kittens are so cute my head just exploded!! Pooof! Corbett is beeeautiful!!
I didn’t even realize those were Kitty (Miz Poo) ears sticking up in the picture until you explained it, and once it was explained I have to say that the picture is just too adorable!
Oh the Bookworms are so cute I can’t even tell you! They are just so so perfectly cute! And I can’t wait to see Maura’s kittens – you seem to get the super cute ones down there!
And poor Newt – we have that problem at our house a lot too,so I can sympathize with him wanting in the box!
That is some of the best lighting in the photos of the Bookworms! What little cuties.
And Miss Maura is in such denial.
Um, Newt- there is a box right next to Elwood, but of course you want that box 🙂
Hey Robyn,
One of the first photos of Maura was where Fred was holding her up just on her hind paws, showing the belly. I’d like to see a new one in that pose for comparison!
The Bookworms are too cute, I would be in that room every 15 minutes and never get anything done except kitten loving! And there are more coming, sooooo exciting!
Kiss them all for me (the permanant residents too!).
Beth
Oh my heavens to betsy! These are some perfectly perfect kittens. And beautiful photos as well.
I have to tell you that I love the idea of adding a photo or two of the permanent residents at the end of each post. I may have to plagiarize that idea..
Beautiful post, Robyn. As always.
Okay, I’ll just add to the chorus of “I love Corbett” voices…oh dear, that is one adorable little munchkin! Well, they’re all adorable, but Corbett just looks so heart-meltingly innocent…sigh…want…kittens…now!
As for poor Maura, oh dear, denial, denial, denial! That seems to be the way to go…tell her to enjoy her lazy days in the sun…soon there will be squirming little babies yelling “Feed Me! Feed Me!” all day long…
The box wars is a well known event in all households with more than one kitty…I still haven’t figured out what it is about boxes but I do know that no cat can resist sitting in a box…the smaller the box, the happier the cat…go figure!
Awwwwwwwwww!!!!
The Bookworms are so adorable! My goodness – those little faces! And so good to hear they are active and growing fast and having their own little personalities shining through, Bolitar especially!
And Maura is all aglow and looking serene! Can’t be long now can it?
I hope Newt got to use the box too after Elwood. And Miz Poo’s name just made me laugh! I’m not going to ask why or how she got her name! LOL!
Take care

It looks like someone haz complaints in pictures #1 and #3.
love the bookworms…Reacher and Rhyme are two of my favorite characters…hoping the kitties take after them…
and now can we miss Hoyt when such a sweet little complaining face shows up…
So many fun kittens ~ how I would love to be sitting right in the middle of them! So cute!
The Bookworms are just so darn cute I can hardly stand it.
Maura is such a beautiful girl. It’s kind of good that she is taking her time and getting lots of extra good nutrition and relaxation time to grow some healthy little ones.
