The kittens are FIVE WEEKS OLD today, can you believe that? I’ll have their progress pictures up tomorrow – but here’s a comparison I can share today.
Two weeks and one day old on the left, and one day short of 5 weeks old on the right. The big difference (other than size) is that at 2 weeks old they stayed in the box; at 5 weeks old I had to take pictures fast, because as soon as I got all 5 of them in the box, they were zooming right back out.
Mary, sun drunk and attitudinous.
Mary again. She’s such a little cutie.
Willie and Almanzo, wrasslin’.
Lying on the bare floor because she knows it drives me craaazy.
Such a sweet couple. (Caroline’s doing her ham dog impression.)
Willie and Laura wrasslin’, while Almanzo comes climbing up from behind to see what’s going on.
Those EARS. Don’t work too hard, Pa.
Today’s the day I start offering canned food to the kittens. I mean, it’s been available – and Caroline does her very best to set a “This is how you eat, children” example to the kittens – but they’ve pretty much ignored solid food until now, so I’ll start putting some of it in their mouths and see if we can’t pique their interest.

This looks like an album cover for a ’70s easy-listening album. (That’s Khal back there, and Frankie in the front.)
The Sheriff comes strolling through to keep an eye on things.

Archie, you better take care
If they find you been creepin’ up Fred’s back stairs
Sometimes the Half Pints are in
And Ma and Pa will chase you down the hallway again
LOL. Thank you for my earworm today.
(For anyone unfamiliar, put this to Gordon Lightfoot – Sundown)
Excellent!
Haha, I love it!
Fuzzy Almanzo is to die for.
And look a Lady Laura’s sweet little crossed paws…
*sigh*
I bet the cats love the back yard with all the stone walls and nooks an crannies to explore.
They do! One of the first things we said when we saw this house was “The cats will love the back yard!” I think our realtor thought we were nuts… but we were right!
Sheriff Mama kind of spoils the laid-back vibe… (Also, thanks, Beta Loop, for the earworm!)
Frankie looks like he’s got a guilty conscience there…
We had joy, we had fun, we had Almanzo in the sun <3
And, another earworm!
I love it!
