In case you missed it over the weekend, on Saturday there were cute kitty pics and an answer to a question, and on Sunday I announced that SALLY PEPPERS HAS BEEN ADOPTED (WOOT!) and there were more cute kitty pics along with the kittens’ weights and a picture of each of their little monkey faces.
Emmy and the squirming mass o’ babies. Look at Razzie’s little stumpy tail and skinny, stripey legs there in the front. SO CUTE.
“I like to get as close to Mama’s face as possible. It’s more comfy up here.”
“Dude, I know, right?”
When one needs to get higher and can’t quite pull oneself up, stepping on ones sibling’s face is always acceptable.
Do you see Logie there on top, crawling across her siblings? Apparently Her Majesty’s toes are too precious to touch fabric.
“Ah, yes, this bed made of my brother and sisters will do nicely.”
“HEY! I went to sleep on a pile of kittens and woke up on this stupid pink thing! I WOULD LIKE TO LODGE A COMPLAINT, PLEASE CALL THE MANAGER.”
More than a year after Fred put up the walkway and the corner platform in the kitchen, Stinkerbelle has finally ventured forth to check it out (until now, she’s always stuck to the other side of the kitchen, getting up there by jumping from the floor to the top of the fridge and then to the top of the cupboards, and reversing the process to get down to the floor). She’s been spending a LOT of time hanging out on the walkway and on the corner platform.

Wow those kitty’s are now all porky little kittens, well done Mummy Em!
Such a contended look on her face and what lovely mini moggies.
I love your cat walkways it would belovely to have some but it’s not possible in my home.
Lordy how you get anything done during the day is a miracle. I’d be “awwww, look!” all.day.long.
Emmy’s an awesome Mom.
I spend a LOT of time going “awww, look!”, believe me. π
Love me some Stinkerbelle! π
Those kittens are getting bigger by the minute! If I didn’t live in FL and already have 3 cats….Logie would be MINE! So would Corbie….. π
I am consistently amazed by Emmy’s ability to sleep in the most contorted positions possible. Of course, that makes her like most other cats I know. Those other cats would no-way, no-how sleep underneath that squirming pile while being contorted enough to earn a Barnum and Bailey contract. Also amazing? The size of those pudgy kittens. Great job, mama!
Hooray for the adventuresome Stinkerbelle! Welcome to the other side of the kitchen. It looks good on you.
My Tommy update… We took a supply of toys up to younger daughter’s room that are “just Tommy’s”. He played all weekend long. Catnip mice, sparkle balls, balls of yarn, and (wait for it) the track ball! We finally got one of those spoiled furballs to not only acknowledge the existence of the track ball, but he loves it. He might love it a little too much considering younger daughter’s report that he likes to play with it in the middle of the night. I’m not sure if it’s one element or a combination, but lower toys without competition from other cats and springlike weather seemed to have flipped the switch in him. Thanks everyone for your input!
Yay, Tommy! Glad to hear you’ve made progress and that he’s comfortable (even a little too much so!) playing in his safe space. π
Good to hear Tommy is playing!! The trackball can be silenced by tossing a soft pillow on top of it. You can even do that from the bed without waking up all the way. Jingle balls can be silenced by grabbing them and sticking them in your pillowcase. Just toss a soft catnip toy to distract the cat, grab the noisy toy and Bob’s your uncle.
I dunno, can you tell I’ve had this problem too? π
Dear kittehs:
Please continue to voice and direct any complaints to us. You look ridiculously cute doing it.
Best,
The Commenters (and The Management, too, I’m sure)
Hahahaha!!! Logie lodging her complaint made me laugh out loud!! I mean, I’m properly sympathetic, of course. I’m sure all her complaints are valid. But… hahahaha!! π
OMG the pudgy kittehs! Good job Emmy. I thought they look huge when they were born, but boy they are twice as big. I love the little stripe on Logie’s nose. Squee!
The last picture of the Stinkerbelle is down right scary. She looks like she wants to RIP YOUR FACE OFF.
In the first pic in particular Stinkerbelle looks so sweet! Okay, she’s a little Garbo-ish in the third, but nothing her afternoon trattoria won’t put right. Kisses to both her and Emmy — air kisses, that is.
She has actually started coming down so that Fred can pet her! She doesn’t put up with it for long, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. She has really silky fur so it’s such a pleasure to pet her – too bad she doesn’t let us very often!
Wow, those babies have suddenly become HUGE!
Oh my stars! Logie! My insides have melted into treacle at the sight of you! Good grief! There should be a law against utter perfect cuteness! LOL! π
So great to see mum Emmy and her adorable kitties looking just totally happy and content!
Big wave to Stinkerbelle! Take care
x
Every time I come to your site now, all I want to do is say “Ohhh kittens kittens kittens!!!!!” But look! Kittens!!! They are far too cute and Emmy, such a pretty girl! I hope she tames quickly, poor baby.
Stinkerbelle is sooooo pretty! I’m glad she’s broadening her horizons! Time to take over another portion of the kitchen, next the living room and after that, the world!!
Am I the only one who thinks that first photo is hilarious?! Two kittens on top (over whom Emmy has thrown her tail, perhaps when yet another kitten burrowed under it) and one kitten who is luxuriating because she has all the teats to herself. Then there’s the ‘what tha…?’ expression on Emmy’s face! Priceless!!
I also like the step-on-your-sibling’s face shot. It’s a good thing kittens are resilient!!
Finally, hooray for Stinkerbelle venturing forth just a little. She is so beautiful, it’s too bad she is so shy. But I could be wrong — maybe she considers herself the queen of all she surveys!
As always, thanks for the great blog, Robyn!!
Hate to be a nuffer, but you named a kitten for the Darwin Awards? I’m little concerned here. Does this doom them to a live of daredevil antics and “curiosity killed the cat” jokes?
Aww, Stinkerbelle’s a cute girl! Like the second snap with her peering down at everybody. You go, girl!
And that Logie’s a little princess, isn’t she? feet mustn’t touch the pink…siblings to snooze on…complaints…you just wanna squish her till she squeals rainbows, yes? Better keep an eye on her mama though… can’t wait till the squirts are all running around. think how delighted Emmy will be.
OMG, Logie is cracking me up! I take it she is the Princess Ciara of this family?
And I love Stinkerbelle. She is so striking! Yay for expanding your horizons, beautiful girl!
