In case you missed it…
Richie and Carmy were adopted yesterday! They went home to Lexington, Kentucky, where they join former foster Meander, former foster Mollie (Millinocket, 2018) and (non-foster, but apparently Meander’s ONE TRUE LOVE) Angus. They won’t have a social media page, but we will get updates, and of course I’ll share those.
They’re planning to rename the boys, but aren’t sure what the final names will be yet. (Meander was originally going to be renamed Willow – which I thought fit her well! – but Meander said “That’s not my name, stop it,” so she’s still Meander.)
Today’s post has the rest of the pictures I have which include the boys.
The green beans were on special at Chef Shrimpy’s.
“Why does she have so many SOCKS?” Richie wondered despairingly.
Carmy lolling about on my desk.
Oh, those sweet, snuggly boys.
Richie was being annoying, so Tina pinned him down and gnawed on his neck for a while.
Such a pretty boy, that Carmy.
You know, they weren’t sure about that cat tree in the beginning, but they really took to it!
An outtake from the adoption picture. This looks like something AI would make if you asked it to create a two-tailed cat. It cracks me up that you can’t see even the slightest hint of Richie aside from his tail!
Yes, it was hard to say goodbye to those boys, but I was also so excited for them to get going on their happily ever after. I’ve said goodbye to hundreds of fosters, so I’m used to it at this point. Saying goodbye to Carmy was maybe a bit harder than usual, given his sad beginning, but I know 100% that those boys will be spoiled absolutely rotten every moment of their lives; I couldn’t hope for a better home for them, and knowing that helped a LOT. (Getting a few extra bonus weeks with them was really nice, I’ll admit.)
Tina is handling it all just fine. She’s vocal, but no more vocal than usual. She is NOT sad about not having to share her Churu, I’ll tell you that. She is still scheduled to go home this weekend (Sunday), and fingers crossed that that happens for her!

Carmy’s feelin’ kneady.
Hooray, hooray, Richie and Carmy were adopted today! They are on their way home to Lexington, Kentucky, where they will join former foster Meander (2024), former foster Mollie (formerly Millinocket, 2018) and big brother Angus. They won’t have a social media page, but we will get updates, and of course I will share any that I get! Happy life, sweet boys! ❤️
The face of a Tina who’s just realized she doesn’t have to share her Churu with ANYONE.
