Lollygag looks a bit offended.
“What doin’, lady?” wonder Mosey and Skitter.

Now that Pita has gone home… and since the kittens are pretty much harassing Meander relentlessly…
And with the possibility that Meander will be heading to Petsmart in the next week or two, I decided that now was the time to give her a little room and space so that she could relax without the kittens always wanting to nurse, and her milk could start to dry up. So I put her in the carrier (she doesn’t like to be carried in my arms, so I find it easier to pop her in the carrier when I need to move her) and took her down to the dining room.
I also wanted to see what she’d do when she spotted the permanent residents. Turns out? She likes other cats QUITE a bit. Every time she spotted one of them, she’d trill at them. If they walked away, she’d come over to the door and meow at them.
She and Charlie, giving each other the eye.
After a few hours, I decided to let Charlie in and see what happened. She saw him walk in and RAN over, her tail straight in the air. Charlie was surprised and I think a little bit cowed.
He walked around the dining room and sniffed everywhere she’d been. He jumped into her litter box and used it (of course he did.)
She’s a normal-sized cat. He’s a BEHEMOTH. (She weighed 9 1/2 pounds at her spay two weeks ago; he weighs 19 3/4 pounds.)
I kept Meander in the dining room for the day, and at bedtime I carried her back up to the foster room. It was my intention to put a weansie (see below for reference) on her so that the kittens couldn’t nurse. BUT she took one look at the crowd of kittens running her way, and she gave me a look of SUCH betrayal, like she was thinking “I thought I was done with that nonsense!” that I carried her back down and put her in the dining room.
I’m not saying that she won’t change her mind and want to go back into the foster room, but for now she’s a resident of the dining room. She has all the amenities (food, litter box, window looking onto the front porch/yard) and no kittens harassing her, so that’s where she’ll be for now. (The kittens do not appear to have yet noticed her absence.)
Regarding the weansie: it’s listed as a “recovery suit” on Amazon, and I’ve used them just a few times in the past. They fit like a onesie, but the back end is constructed so that they can use the litter box just fine (sorry, no pictures of THAT. You’re just going to have to trust me.) Here are Canasta and Mimosa in their weansies.

Alice certainly does enjoy herself some sunshine.

Good morning, sunshine. (Lollygag & Skip)
Meander is still available for adoption; if she seems like the perfect addition to your home, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org. (There have been zero inquiries about her, so she will likely be going to Petsmart in the next week or two.)
Someone asked the other day how she is with the permanent residents. At that time, she hadn’t met any of them. Yesterday, she met Charlie and Khal, and saw Newt and Alice, and I can tell you this: her immediate acceptance of Pita was no fluke. This girl looooves other cats. The first time she came face to face with Charlie, she charged over and rubbed against him (he had no idea what to do, he just stared at her). She sniffed noses with Khal (and then backed away when he hissed at her.) She trilled at Alice and Newt through the door. She’s a little wary of humans at first, but with cats? She immediately wants to be best friends. So sweet!

This video would have been better if I hadn’t blabbed over her second confirmation, but we finally have it: Da Baybee!
Dillydally curls up with Mister Frog for a snuggly nap.

The very best toy is juuuust out of reach (but where better to chase it than in the Toastycat bed? Skip thinks it’s the perfect place.)
It’s a Paws-Up-Y’all Skitter pie! (My favorite!)
Good night innernets, from this pile o’ cute. (Mosey, Dillydally, Skitter & Bolt)
