In case you missed it…
On Saturday, Ciabatta and Babka went home to Knoxville, Tennessee! They were not adopted by a previous adopter, but WERE accompanied by a previous adopter – Kara, who adopted Shelby, Murphy (formerly Drum) and Chloe (formerly Clairee) in January. She does have an Instagram, and they’ll pop up there from time to time! (They’ve already settled in well and spent the first night snuggled up with their mom. Awww.) Ciabatta is now Sam Elliot (formal name for legal matters: Ciabatta Chibby Charlie Samelliott Chaplin {last name}, P. I.) and Babka is now Luci (legally Babs Lucipurr Snicklefritz).
(I know some people don’t like the idea of changing a kitten’s name, but I assure you that there’s no way Ciabatta and Babka knew they were Ciabatta and Babka. Fred called them Mustache and Freckles, and they had 700 nicknames besides.)
Pita was there while the adoption was going on (and in fact curled up in their new mom’s lap for a while) and saw them leave, so she knows they’re gone. She’s been fine (and is not sad about the fact that she gets the ENTIRE tube of Churu every night!)
The rest of the pictures I took of Ciabatta and Babka are in today’s post.
“You better GIMME that feather teaser, lady!” says Babka.
Babka leapt from the scratcher to the bed.
Pita made the leap, too (while Ciabatta was all “I don’t think she’s gonna make it!” She did.)
Babka and Pita, keeping Auntie Alice company (while she ignores them.)
Looks like it’s time for a nap.
One last shot of the sweet duo.

Mosey has discovered the mirrors.
I couldn’t get anyone but Lollygag to look in my general direction, but here’s a shot of all 6 of them!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.
“Can’t you just bring us breakfast in bed, lady?” requests Ciabatta.
I totally flaked on this earlier this week, but May 19th marked NINETEEN years since our very first fosters: mama kitty Mia and her kittens Peanut, Flossie, Snoopy, Edgar and Oy. (It wasn’t until about our 5th litter that we started doing theme names – though Mia and Oy were both names from the Dark Tower series.) We took one year off from fostering after we adopted Sugarbutt and Tom Cullen (from our 3rd foster litter), but other than that and a little time off here and there for surgeries or moving, we’ve been pretty constantly fostering. With the Hopalongs, we’re at a total of 537 cats/kittens fostered. Can’t wait to hit 1,000 in a few years. ❤️

Mosey in the scratcher tunnel, and then heading for the milk bar. (I’m not sure they’re going to fit in that scratcher tunnel for much longer!)
“Mama says if I want an iPhone, I’ve gotta earn the money myself. So I’ll be working at the Burger Barn this summer. ::sigh::” (Skip, with a Skitter assist.)

Napping with Pita, Ciabatta, and Babka. Oh, the purrs! (And the Pita yawns!)
“I AIN’T TOUCHING YOUR TOYS, OLD MAN! STOP LOOKING AT ME!”
“You better mind your manners, kid, or Uncle Khal’s gonna mind ’em for you.”
Good night innernets. (Dillydally)

Look at these little slackers, COMPLETELY FAILING to do their jobs. You’ve failed this crucial skills test, kittens, I’m not sure you deserve to graduate!
Hooray, hooray, Ciabatta & Babka were adopted TOGETHER today. 🎉 They are headed home right now to Knoxville, TN! ❤️ Their names will change – Babka will likely be Lily or Lucy, and Ciabatta? Might be Sam Elliot! 👨Happy life, sweet babies! ❤️❤️❤️

Ciabatta and Babka were adopted together yesterday and went home to Knoxville, Tennessee. Here’s the video of my favorite pictures I took of them from the day we said “hello” to them (February 5th, the day they were born) to the day they were adopted. ❤
(Pita is adapting well to being an “only child” for now (she goes home next weekend) – she’s a little bored, but I’m doing my best to keep her entertained!)
“You want fries with that?” asks Lollygag.
Pita would like everyone to know that she is doing just fine as a temporary “only child” (she goes home this weekend.) She’s getting lots of attention, lots of playing, lots of snuggles, and most importantly, she doesn’t have to share her nightly Churu with anyone else!
