Just a reminder that the Forgotten Felines of Huntsville online auction is NOW going on! You can bid on some very cool stuff, like…
This set of notecards featuring Love & Hisses mama kitties and their kittens! Go check it all out on Facebook and get your bid on! (The auction ends this Saturday at 7 PM Central Time.)

Babka’s all “Tryin’ to nap here, lady.”
Crouton’s watching me watch her.
Ciabatta! Are you trying to rip your brother’s throat out?
Pita found some afternoon sunshine.
They just love this big cat tree downstairs. All kittens do! (It’s a PiCasSo cat tree made by Molly and Friends. Link for reference – but I got mine at Home Goods for far, far less than that. I’ve had it for about 8 years, I think, and it’s holding up really well. It looks kind of ratty, but it’s super solid.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And then they return to the crate, where Mosey gives Mama a look o’ love.
Meander’s little smirk cracks me UP. “Ah yes, time alone. I remember this!”
Skip, Mosey, and Dillydally take a snooze.
Dillydally gives Mama an ear cleaning.
I meant to set up little litter boxes around the crate yesterday, but time got away from me – so I’ll set them up today. The kittens are moving around pretty confidently (especially Skip!), so I think they’ll start using them in a day or two. In my experience, kittens start peeing in the boxes just before they turn 4 weeks old, and I imagine these guys will be right on schedule.
Newt reclaims his heated bed, and he’s not sorry.
Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.
Good morrrrrrrrrrning, innernets! (A very happy Pita)
Former foster update! Here we have orange tabby Mocha Joe (formerly Rufous!) and his sister Dottie (formerly Wren!). Rhonda reports: “They are the sweetest cats ever and we are so thankful for them. Everyone that visits here in Florida comment about how sweet and social they are!”
(Thanks, Rhonda!)
I got this toy – which I’ve had for a while – out of the drawer to see what the Crumbs kittens thought of it. They were FASCINATED – I’ve had other kittens run in terror from interactive/electronic toys, but these guys weren’t scared at all. As soon as it went – and it goes FAST – they were on it. (I got it from Amazon – it’s a “AUKL Interactive Cat Toys Ball with Super Driver”. It’s rechargeable, which I find very handy when it comes to cat toys.)
I am feeling very judged by Bolt, who clearly finds me lacking.
Mama gives baths to Skip and Mosey, Bolt is kneading in his sleep (obviously dreaming about nursing!) and I can’t convince Dillydally with the goopy eye to come out of the crate.
Babka’s enjoying the sunshine (and those super clean windows, which I cleaned earlier this week. The better to see birds through!)
Good night innernets. (Mosey & Skitter)
Can I interest you in some Mosey pie? (My favorite!)
Rocco is a cat who belongs to a neighbor and who, along with his sister Trixie, spends the vast majority of his time on our front porch and in our garage. When he wants to come inside, he jumps up in the window, and as long as Charlie and Khal are not around, Fred lets him in (this is not something I encouraged, JUST FOR THE RECORD). Accompanied by Fred, Rocco does a slow stroll the length of the house, casually looking around to see if there’s food anywhere (because clearly he is starving). Ultimately Fred lets him out the garage door. Sometimes Rocco stops for a rest, and the kittens gather around and sniff him. As long as they’re polite he puts up with it, but sometimes he has to put them in their place, as you’ll see.
Pita and Crouton are doing some very active bird-watching. (They’d like to do some bird-catching, but this pesky window is in the way.)
When I walked into the room and sat down in front of the crate, Mosey came over to check me out, and he enjoyed some petting. Then he returned to the crate and tussled with Skip while Skip was ruuuuude to his mama. Then later, everyone came out of the crate to belly up to the milk bar!
Mama: Meander
Bolt: blue collar (GIRL)
Dillydally: orange tabby (GIRL)
Lollygag: red collar (GIRL)
Mosey: no collar (darker cream color; BOY)
Skip: green collar (BOY)
Skitter: purple collar (BOY)
Meander was in the process of getting up when I took this picture, and Mosey was in the process of looking at me.
Good night innernets. (Ciabatta)
Pita (left) and Ciabatta are singing the “It’s Churu time!” blues.
Kittens, kittens everywhere! They’re in the crate, they’re out of the crate, they’re checking things out, but not going tooo far. And Mama is keeping a close eye on things, as always.
There’s a lot of nursing going on outside the crate these days! From left: Skip, Lollygag, Skitter, Mosey, Dillydally & Bolt.
Another day, another bayyyyyyyyyybeee title claimed. (Ciabatta, aka “Chibs” or “Chibby.”)
A very restful nap time, indeed. (Ciabatta and Pumpernickel are having a tussle, Crouton is cleaning her tail, and off-camera, Pita and Babka are both trying to sit on my head.)
Good night innernets. (Skip, left, and Skitter. I know it looks like Skip is HUGE next to Skitter, but they are the exact same size. It’s just the angle. The angle, I tell ya!)
