I’ve noticed on your posts on FB lately that we can send you stars. Do you benefit from the stars you receive and has anyone sent you stars?
I do benefit from the stars, and I have received some stars! I get 1 cent per star, and they pay me monthly. I think I make about $15 every other month from stars, or thereabouts. Which of course goes right into kitten supplies!

So Fred dropped his objections to multiple litters in the house?
He… does not love this particular situation, but since the Crumbs kittens will be ready to head out of here in a few weeks, he’s not complaining too much. (He’ll be happier when/if there are adoptions pending on most or all of them, though!)

You should link to the Khaleesi/Norbert story for the newbies here — one of my favorites.
Here it is, for anyone who was curious! (And I’ve gone back and linked it in the post, too.)

I would also like to know if the Crumbs are the most jumping kitties you have fostered?
You know, I think they very well might be!

Is Meander a hearty eater? She looks to be on the small side, so I was surprised she presented you with six kitties.
She is NOT a hearty eater, and it’s been driving me ever so slightly NUTS. She barely ate anything her first couple of days, and I thought “Well, there’s sometimes an appetite drop-off in the few days before birth.” Then the day she had the kittens, she didn’t really eat anything, just drank some water and I thought “Well, there was that afterbirth…” (I know, gross. Sorry!) Then yesterday she again just wasn’t eating and I have offered that girl cans of every kind of food from the cheapest junk to the fanciest stuff, tried baby food and Churu and just EVERYTHING. If it exists, I’ve offered it to her.
Finally, yesterday morning I remembered that we always have a bag of shredded chicken in the fridge (because that is what our cats get for treats because that’s what old man Newt likes, and if old man Newt likes it, he’s gonna GET it whenever he wants) and I brought some chicken to her… and she was QUITE a fan. She ate more yesterday than in the previous three days combined. It’s like the chicken kick-started her appetite, and by bedtime all I had to do was bring in a bowl of canned food with a few pieces of chicken on top, and she’d eat the whole thing.
She is definitely on the small side, though I haven’t weighed her. Usually my mamas are with me for longer than this before they give birth, and I’m able to fatten them up. I was obviously not able to do that with Meander, so I am going to feed her as often as she’ll eat, and maybe she’ll put on some much-needed weight even while she’s feeding all those kittens. (I’ll be weighing the kittens daily, and can supplement with formula if need be.)

I got these three pictures of Meander the day before she had her kittens, and they crack me up. What an adorable goofball!
Yesterday morning while Meander was taking a short break in the window bed, I went in to pet her and then to give the kittens a look-over. Here they are in a pile.
And now they are collared! (I’m going to swap out the orange collar for a red or pink one, I think. Because I can totally see myself getting confused over whether I meant “orange” as in the kitten or the collar. I am easily confused sometimes.)
Meander came back to the crate to open up the milk bar.
Orange (collar) loves his/her mama.
Orange (collar) goes for a wander.
I still haven’t looked at the kittens’ back ends to determine what we’ve got for boys and girls, and I still haven’t taken pictures of their individual faces. I intend to get to that today… and hopefully we’ll get ’em named over the weekend!

Snuggly sisters (from left: Babka, Crouton & Pita.)
Pumpernickel’s all “You mind? I’m tryin’ to take a nap here.”
He opted for a nap on the ham-mick with Pita.
I’m feeling very judged by Ciabatta.
Ciabatta’s all “HEY. That other kitty has a feather teaser too!”

The oldest permanent resident (Newt, on the left, age 18) and the youngest (Charlie, almost 4) share a plate.
Charlie weighs twice as much as Newt and does not NEED to “help” Newt eat his snack, but Newt doesn’t mind and Charlie doesn’t usually eat much. Charlie is very sweet with Newt – last night Newt presented his head for grooming, and Charlie complied.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
The milk bar is hoppin’, and one of the kittens is trying to tell Mama something very important.
ATTENTION PLEASE: Now that the Crumbs are 10 weeks old and are scheduled for their spays/neuters (May 14th), Forgotten Felines of Huntsville is accepting applications! If you’re interested, please —>EMAIL FORGOTTEN FELINES AT INFO (at) FFHSV.ORG
I will write and post descriptions of each kitten in the days to come, but know this: they’re awfully cute, they’re snuggly, and they are completely nuts.
There are no bonded pairs in this litter: all the kittens get along with all the other kittens.
We are located in Huntsville, Alabama; out of area adoptions are allowed but adopters MUST come here to complete the adoption.
Once again, EMAIL Forgotten Felines at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.

After I tease the kittens with the feather teaser and make them jump, I usually toss it on the floor for them to play with for a little while. Invariably, Ciabatta (nickname: Chibs or Chibby) picks it up and starts dragging it around while growling at the other kittens. When there are feathers involved, that boy is NOT messing around – he doesn’t share!
It’s #Thlurrrpsday and so please check out Pumpernickel’s excellent thlurrrping form. Nice job!
Meander’s all “Whataya doing over here, lady?” Just looking!

Kittens at the milk bar, and a purring Mama. Exactly how I like it!
As you can see, I put collars on the kittens so I can easily tell them apart at a glance (telling who’s who is important so I can keep track of their weights and how they’re doing. I weigh them daily at this age to be sure everyone is gaining as they should be.) Upon reflection, I think I’m going to change the orange collar out for a red one just to make life easier for myself (I can totally imagine writing down something about “orange” and then not remembering whether I mean the orange kitten or the kitten with the orange collar.)
(The collars are very soft and I check them multiple times a day.)
