Yesterday being Valentine’s Day, and since I have three VERY good-looking orange and white boys in my foster room, I figured – why not put ties on them and take some pictures? What’s the worst that can happen? Well, the worst didn’t happen – but the best certainly did. Scroll down to the social media section to see what I ultimately posted… and here are some outtakes!
This picture is PERFECT, but it bugged me to no end that I hung up the blanket so that the hearts were going sideways. “Who’s gonna notice?” you might ask. ME. I NOTICED and it bugged me!
But first, a lined-up picture of them after the ties came off. (From left: Louie, Dewey and Huey.)
So a few hours later, I gave it another try.
Dewey takes a quick break before the hard work begins.
From left: Huey, Dewey and Louie.
Louie’s tie/collar was too big for him, so the ends were sticking out, and Huey (left) and Dewey were obsessed with chewing on them.
“Stop doing that and look at ME!” I demanded, feather teaser waving wildly. And they did.
Louie’s tie got turned ALL the way around, and Huey snuck in for a quick chomp.
Lastly, Louie and Huey licked each other on the mouth. (There was no Churu involved in the making of these pictures.)
I am pretty amazed that I managed to get so many good pictures of those boys in their ties! Born to be models, they are.

Babka through Mama’s whiskers.
Ciabatta yawning in the back of the cube. (Looks like it could be a hiss, but I was there – it was a yawn. This has been a surprisingly un-hissy bunch.)
Babka waves from the back of the cube.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Good morning and Happy Valentine’s Day from Louie, who invites you to be his Valentine.
This dapper gentleman – Huey – would like to be your valentine. Won’t you be his?
Dewey understands it’s Valentine’s Day which means Churu, toy ducks, and perhaps even a kiss at the end of the night. Won’t you be his valentine?
Dewey, Louie and Huey wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
(“This is never going to work,” I said. “They’re never going to put up with wearing ties, and they’re never going to line up. But oh why not give it a try?” ET VOILA!)
Valentine’s Day is all about kittens, am I right? Have yourself some kitten pie. You deserve it!

The kittens are in the cube moshing around a little because Crumpet came out to get some petting… and we discuss the much bigger and more comfy crate next door. Free rent, Crumpet. You can’t beat that!

I don’t know what it is about the blue mouse, but the Ducklings just LOVE it.
Good night innernets. (Louie, who is feeling sleepy. And Dewey, who is feeling bitey.)
