If you are interested, Fred’s book (which I mentioned at the end of December) is now available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, along with the paperback.
It’s a thriller (there’s no horror in this book), and I think it’s really, really good (I mean, what am I gonna say? I’m his wife!) When I read it, I ended up staying up ’til 2 AM ’cause I couldn’t put it down. If fast-moving thrillers are your thing, give it a try! Paperback version here, Kindle version here.
And if you’re interested in seeing his other work, check out his author web site here.

Does Charlie always wear a collar or is this a new development?
It’s a calming collar (affiliate link for reference) we tried out for a few weeks to see if it would help tamper down his hatred for Rocco and Trixie. (Didn’t really seem to make a difference, and it was starting to irritate him, so we took it off this morning. I would probably have left it for another couple of weeks to see if it just needed time to be effective, but since it was irritating him and making him scratch a lot, it had to go.)

Oh, no. Fred is establishing (has established!) an Ancient Cat Tradition and Rocco is going to expect to be escorted through the house All.The.Time. Shaking my head because I thought Fred would know better, but also laughing at how the cats know a softie when they see one.
Fred CLAIMS that he doesn’t let him in every single time Rocco jumps up on the window sill, but I am SO VERY SKEPTICAL of this claim.

It still surprises me to read about Khal loathing anyone, though I can imagine him going “Ugh–” ::hiss:: :flee!:: if someone he dislikes shows up.
A few months ago, Rocco got into the back yard (the cat fence is good for keeping cats IN, but not so great at keeping them OUT – and of course once they come into the back yard, they can’t get out again) and Khal attacked him. We broke it up as fast as we could (as an FIV+ cat, Khal could conceivably pass the FIV to another cat if he bit deep enough), and I was utterly shocked that Khal would do that. He’s always been a hiss and run kinda guy (I blame Charlie for being a bad influence.)

Do you ever want to lay your head on Khal like a pillow and listen to him purr?
Not only do I want to, I actually do it. Not for too long (he doesn’t like being constrained for long), but he lets me do it for a few minutes, and it’s heavenly!

Ouiser tries to give Rocco the ol’ snifferoo through the window.
Uncle Charlie came for a walk-through and everyone looks guilty.
Clairee was rather quite flirty with Uncle Charlie. She seems to have decided he’s an okay guy.
Charlie did a gentle pat, and Clairee gave him a sniff.
Drum checks out Uncle Charlie (who’s checking out the left over food.)
And then Clairee did a flirty little flop. She’s so CUTE.

Rocco likes to follow me around when I’m doing stuff outside. I’m pretty sure he wants to be on the lookout in case some food suddenly becomes available.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Happy Thlurrrpsday! News on Shelby: (1) She is WELL over 3 pounds, hooray hooray! (The other three are still quite a bit larger than she is, but she is well within the normal range.) (2) There’s an application for Shelby! It hasn’t been processed yet, but I’m considering her adoption pending. (Yes, Shelby alone – but assuming the application is approved, she’ll be going to a home with other young kitties for her to be the boss of – I mean PLAY with!)
Former foster update! You remember Mimosa’s kittens Kudzu and Mondo (from 2022)? Well here they are now! Aren’t they a gorgeous pair? The pics came via “aunt” Mikaela, who reports that when online gaming, Mondo can often be heard screaming in the background, whereas “Zuzu just comes up and headbutts the mic on Cole’s headset and then sits in front of the computer so he can’t play.” How cute is that?
(Thanks, Mikaela & Cole!)

Throw Back Thursday: From 2022, Kudzu’s giving mama Mimosa some attitude (and she is not impressed.)
Well LOOK what we have here – the rare quadruple thlurrrp. That never happens! Thanks, Churu! (Left to right: Shelby, Clairee, Drum, Ouiser)

Drum is a total lapkitten, and Shelby is getting to be one, too. They spent a good 5 minutes chewing on the cords of my hoodie, but as soon as I started trying to get a video, they got super sweet and cuddly and purry. (I am not complaining!)
Good night innernets. (Clairee)
