In case you missed it, M’Lynn went home Saturday morning!
I delivered her myself (she went locally, about half an hour from me). She made not a single peep on the drive, and when I let her out of the carrier, she immediately started sniffing and exploring the room in her new home. Once her exploration was complete, she decided it best to hang out under the bed (she really liked hanging out under the bed here, chilling out and keeping an eye on things) for a few hours, and then she came out for some love.
Her new name is Sakana (Japanese for “fish”), which I think is so pretty.
The kittens are fine and don’t appear to miss her – they’re eating, playing, and having a blast; no one is crying or searching for her.
The pictures in today’s blog post are all the ones I have that include her – she spent a lot of time avoiding the kittens in her last week here, so while I won’t proclaim she doesn’t miss them, I would be surprised if she does.
I mean, if she could have relaxed just a LITTLE.
Using the scratching post like a good girl.
Standing atop the tall scratching post, eyeing the closet door (this girl LOVES to go into the closet and see what’s what. If I couldn’t find her, all I had to do was open the closet door, and she’d appear to see what was going on.)
Sitting in my office window, thinking those birds would be tasty.
“Y’all keep it down over there!”
Yes, the pie plate went home with her.
I tried to get one last family portrait Saturday morning, but she said “If there’s no Churu going in my mouth, I’m not staying up here!” and then she hopped down and vamoosed.
Side note: M’Lynn, who weighed 6 1/2 pounds (2.95 kg) and was skin and bones when I got her, weighed 9 pounds, 12 ounces (4.42 kg) the day she went home! Definitely not skin and bones anymore.

I love the look on Newt’s face, like he’s saying “Oh! Did you say it’s time for Third Breakfast? Well, if I must. I wouldn’t want to disappoint you!”

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Sunshine makes Shelby sleeeepy.
I was cleaning the foster room and piled all the stuff on the couch so I could sweep and mop, and Ouiser climbed up, made herself at home and said “I like it way better this way, lady.”

The girls are playing, and for once Drum isn’t in the middle of it all, he’s cuddled up on my lap. (M’Lynn is busy eating.)
I lured the kittens up onto the couch (M’Lynn wanted nothing to do with this nonsense), waved the feather teaser around and said “Smile!”
So Drum smiled.
(The garlands on the wall came from Target.)

No matter that Drum had made that jump 7 million times before, all of a sudden he can’t figure it out and needs a LOT of encouragement before he does it again. He does make the leap, though, FINALLY!
Good night innernets. (Ouiser)

Last night’s family Churu time. These guys looove their Churu. (Sorry about my screechy voice and my growling stomach and my shaky camera work, though you really oughta be used to all of that by now. 🙂 )
Shelby bit Drum on the tail and made him cry, then zoomed through the bowl of food so it scattered everywhere, and now she’s going to have a rest while being VERY pleased with her morning shenanigans.
Hooray, hooray, M’Lynn was adopted today! I delivered her myself, and when I left she was sniffing around with great interest. She joins a family that includes another young kitty and a couple of dogs. Her new name is Sakana (I think I spelled that right), and I’ve been promised updates. 🙂
Happy life, sweet girl! ❤️

Is confirmed: Drum is Da BAYbee. Also, he gets a few BOOPs just ’cause.
Good night innernets. (Shelby, Clairee & Drum. Ouiser is not in this picture because she wouldn’t fit – she was about 1 foot to the left of this picture.) The kittens are doing fine since M’Lynn was adopted this morning – they spent the afternoon napping on me (yes, I took a nap with the kittens because it’s a rough life but someone’s gotta do it), the evening racing around like wild things, and don’t even seem to notice that M’Lynn isn’t here.
Update! Yesterday, Sakana (formerly known as M’Lynn) spent most of the day hanging out under the bed* , purring, and just basically chilling. In the evening, she came out for some love and attention. Things are going well! (Thanks Amy!)
*She loved to hang out under the bed here, too. She doesn’t do it in a scared or stressed way, just hangs out, watches the lay of the land, and comes out when she feels like it.
After eating a big breakfast and racing around like crazy things all morning long, Shelby, Ouiser and Drum have settled down for a long afternoon nap (Clairee is already out cold on the couch.) They do not appear to be missing their mama in the slightest, and are having a good time. (Later today or tomorrow, we’ll see if Uncle Charlie wants to make a visit.)

M’Lynn was adopted and went home yesterday (she is now Sakana, and joins a family that includes another young kitty and a couple of dogs). Here’s the “From hello to adoption” video, pictures of her while she was with us from October 25th – December 16th, backed by a soundtrack of her purring.
(The kittens are doing fine – I’m not sure they’ve even noticed her absence, they’re having a blast.)

Shelby has a purrrrrr.
