Uncle Charlie comes for another visit.
Clairee got one look at Uncle Charlie and left for parts unknown. Shelby went ::FLOOF::
She stayed frozen where she was and watched him go over to the food bowl.
Shelby de-floofed, and Drum came over to sniff her.
Drum watched Uncle Charlie at the food bowl.
Shelby watched as Uncle Charlie checked out the toys.
Ouiser said “Oh, I’m going to stay here in my safe space.”
BUT THEN.
Uncle Charlie entered the sanctum sanctorum (the crate.) The NERVE of him.
And Ouiser was like “WHAT IS HE DOING.” She went into the tunnel bed, which is next to the crate, to get a closer look.
Charlie said “I’ve made a huge mistake.” Eventually he skedaddled out of the crate and asked me to let him back downstairs.
And Ouiser was pleased.

The kittens are very leap-y these days. Drum always hesitates, but then sticks the landing like a pro.

Shelby has turned into a pure TERROR – doesn’t hesitate for a moment to LEAP upon her siblings and take ’em down. She’s the quintessential bratty little sister (she’s 12 weeks old today; they’re 2 weeks older), and her older siblings need to kick her butt a little, I think. She’s all teeth and claws unless she’s sleepy!
If you’re thinking that it looks like Shelby is hitting her long and lanky stage, you are correct. That girl has suddenly gotten long in body and tail. And she is a total TERROR these days – she loves to LEAP onto her siblings and bunny-kick when they’re least expecting it. And she’s 12 weeks old today! (Drum, Clairee and Ouiser are 14 weeks old today.)
