NOTE: This here blog is probably going to look a little odd this weekend, because I’ll be working on the new theme (design.) The one I’ve been using is so badly out of date (hasn’t been supported by the company that created it for something like 10 years), and it’s time to get my act in gear. I love Janeway’s face because she has that extra cute rounded muzzle. And as for Kirk I haven’t been in love with a kitties face as much as I am with his in a very long time. The urge to adopt them both is off the charts!
They are VERY cute. Someone said (I’d give them credit, but I can’t remember who, it was someone on Facebook I think) that Janeway’s markings make her look like a sugar skull, and I totally agree!

It doesn’t seem that Kes and Spock aren’t as bonded as they were before. Is that true?
Yep, that’s true – they curled up and slept together a lot for a while, but now they’re just as happy to curl up with whoever’s closest. At this point (though it might change in the next few weeks) I don’t see any particularly bonded pairs. Everyone is everyone else’s friend – Kes especially seems to be everyone’s best buddy.
I figure you’ll post pics when it starts happening but have they tried any of the food yet?
They’re mostly sniffing around Uhura’s plate of canned food, and then trying to “cover” it. I’ve put food in all of their mouths at this point, and they all spit it out and look kind of disgusted, which just means they’re not quite ready yet. It is possible that they’ve eaten some of her food when I’m not in the room, but given their reaction when I put food in their mouths, I’m going to say it’s not time yet. ALTHOUGH, I give Uhura a small dish of kitten formula each morning and evening (it started as a way to get some calories in her, and I thought it might help with milk production – not that she wasn’t producing enough milk, but I figured a boost wouldn’t hurt – and she likes it so much that I still give her a bit) and yesterday morning Kirk walked over, stuck his face in the bowl, and tried a few slurps. So if he doesn’t give the canned food a try this weekend, I will be very surprised.
Kirk reminds me of Jay but he seems much calmer and not as front and center.
Kirk is a surprisingly chill dude, but I can see the resemblance to Jay, too!

I love that Troi is hanging out underneath the Fruitasan.
Kirk fell asleep like this, and after a few minutes I lifted his upper half into the Fruitasan expecting that he’d just curl up and go to sleep. But he woke up, fixed me with a furious glare, and stomped off to complain to his Mama about my interference.
Troi discovered the Fancy Sofa.
Kirk curled up for a nap on the beanbag.
Later, after he’d wandered off, Kes took possession of the beanbag.
Kirk likes the Toastycat bed.
Uhura found the packing strap and found it interesting.
Janeway’s keeping an eye (both of them, really) on me.

Exactly 6 years ago we had Mercury and her Missions as our fosters, who included brown tabby girl Stardust and her brown tabby and white sister Phoenix. They were adorable then, and they’re adorable now, curling up together to sleep. ❤️

Kes isn’t sure what to think about the air purifier, follows her tail a little bit, and eventually makes her way back to Mama.

Fun in (and on!) the Fruitasan. I got the Fruitasan out of the closet a few days ago, and the kittens ignored it… until they didn’t. Now it’s the most fun ever (for now. Then they’ll ignore it again. Because that’s just how they are!)
(The Fruitasan came from Pier1 several years ago – it’s actually intended to be a fruit holder. It’s no longer made/sold at Pier1, but you can find similar pet beds in various places such as Homegoods, TJ Maxx, and probably places online.)
