I got the quarterly box from Pusheen a couple of months ago, and set it aside ’til the kittens were old enough to appreciate it. I decided that the time had come and… well first, let me tell you that one of the cool things about the Pusheen Cat Kit is that when it arrives, there are perforated circles in the top and sides of the box itself. The pattern of holes is different each time, and this time there was a big hole in the top with three smaller holes in the side.
Thirteen seconds after I put the box on the floor (I timed it!), this happened.
The holes on the side were too small for her to fit her head through, but never say never with a determined kitten, so I cut out the space between the holes to make a bigger hole, just to be safe.
And the kittens thought the box was cool.
As you can see, I decided that the hole on the side still wasn’t big enough, so I tore a bigger hole. Can’t be too safe, and the kittens don’t care what it looks like.
Kirk’s all “Not fancy, but it’ll do.”
This cube was one of the things that came in the box, and Janeway likes it (they all like it.)
I was trying to get Janeway and Kes to look at me at the same time, and Spock was all “WHAT IS GOING ON UP HERE?!”
A few days ago I took the kittens, one at a time, for short field trips (about 15 minutes each) into my room so that they could do some exploring. Of the five kittens, Kirk was the only one who noticed…
“Hey, there’s another cat in here.” He didn’t approach Charlie and Charlie didn’t approach him – they looked at each other with some interest, and then Kirk scampered off to explore some more.
(I tried to get Charlie to come into the foster room yesterday since Uhura was gone, but he wasn’t interested. Maybe another time.)

Someone recently asked if we were making sure Trixie and Rocco – the cats who hang out on our front porch but belong to a neighbor – are getting fed.
Let me ask y’all…
Do these cats look underfed? (Trixie weighs over 12 pounds, and Rocco weighs over 16 pounds. I think they’re fine.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Uhura is off for her spay this morning! She’ll spend the night at the vet and then will come back here tomorrow morning. (Kittens don’t usually seem to notice that their mama is gone when she goes off for her spay – though they’ll notice her new Eau de Vet perfume when she gets back home, so they may hiss and run from her for a bit (or they may not. I predict Spock will hiss and Kirk will not notice a single thing different.)
Uhura is available for adoption and you can email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire. (We believe she’s about 3 years old; she’s super sweet and friendly, loves to be petted, and is starting to show her playful, goofy side. We are located in Huntsville, Alabama; out of area adoptions are allowed, but adopters must come here to complete the adoption. Please email info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.)
Well, well, well. Looks like Kirk’s been huntin’ snakes!

Spock and Kirk are so very graceful.
Spock’s all “Lady! Show the innernets my foot!… Did they like it?”
I suspect they did, little man.

Kittens Gone Crazy. The kittens are racing around, playing with each other, with toys, with their new tunnel bed – and occasionally just bouncing and pouncing at nothing at all.

Spock, Kes and Janeway scamper about. (Kirk and Troi are busy eating dinner on the other side of the room.)
Good night innernets. (Janeway, Kes, Troi and Spock. Kirk is across the room snoozing on the couch.)
