Myrtle’s all “Lady, you is so weird.”
And Zelda’s all “What she said.”
Nick’s such a cute sweetie pie.
Daisy: “Do not disturb, am sleeping zzzzz….”
The kittens came through their spay/neuter surgeries just fine, as expected. The vet took a look at a bump over Jay’s eyes that I’ve been monitoring for the last week or so (which I haven’t mentioned, so you haven’t missed anything), and he got an antibiotic injection for that. Hopefully that’ll clear it up (whatever it is, it hasn’t slowed him down one tiny bit.) Other than that, it was pretty much business as usual – we got home in the early afternoon, the kittens ate and napped, and by bedtime Jay and Nick were racing around playing. Daisy did hiss at them for a little while, but got over it pretty quickly.

Plovetater with the Precious Moments eyes.
For an hour or so in the late afternoon, I throw open the doors to the dining room and let the Nestlings roam around the downstairs. It took Tater about 10 seconds to find Uncle Khal’s favorite scratcher and claim it for herself.
Rufous enjoys the sun that comes through those windows.
I love the way this picture shows the size difference between Starling (7 weeks old) and Wren (9 weeks old).

Charlie likes the scratcher in my office as much as the kittens do. (They time-share it – he gets it at night and early in the morning, they get it during the day. No, he hasn’t been upstairs to meet the Catsbys because I’d like to remind you: mother cats are protective of their kittens, even while they’d prefer said kittens go off to college ASAP.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Line ’em up! From left to right: Myrtle, Zelda, Jay and Nick. They’re off for their spay/neuter surgeries this morning! I expect all to go well, and that we’ll be back home hopefully in time for an afternoon nap! (I will post when they’re back home.)
Rufous. In the top picture (April 22nd) he was 6 days old and weighed 98 g/ 3.43 oz. In the bottom picture (May 31st) he was about 6 1/2 weeks old, and weighed 640 g/ 22.4 oz. (He currently weighs 880 g/ 30.8 oz and is 8 weeks old as of Sunday.)

Starling’s full (and sleepy), and Wren was excited to find that there was a bottle but – oh nooo! – it’s empty! (Worry not – there was another bottle that was NOT empty.)
Home again, home again! Everybody came through their spay/neuters just fine. We’ve been home for about an hour, the kittens have eaten and are napping. Daisy is hissing at them (normal; they smell like the vet) and looking at me like “I thought they were GONE, lady.” Jay got an antibiotic shot due to a weird bump over his eyes, but otherwise nothing exciting to report except that THAT’S over with, yay!

Everyone’s bein’ mean to Tater and SHE DOESN’T LIKE IT.
Good night innernets. (From left: Daisy, Myrtle, Nick, Jay and Zelda)
