Edited to add: No kittens.
I love love love those Ears of Annoyance (they usually happen when I stop petting her to take a picture.)
Sittin’ in her pie plate, waiting for dinner.
No kittens (as of last night; I will update when I roll myself out of bed.) I don’t know – is she going to wait ’til Sunday? Maybe! I do know we’ve reached the point in this pregnancy where I have started sleeping with my phone next to me so that when I wake up in the middle of the night, I can roll over, check the Nest camera, and then go back to sleep. (Yes, my office where Daisy is is literally on the other side of the wall from my bed. But if I roll out of bed and open the door to check on her, not only am I going to be awake enough that I won’t be able to get back to sleep, but I’ll also disrupt Daisy from her sleep. So using my phone to check a camera that’s 6 feet from my head makes the most sense to me.)

I don’t know that I’ve ever had another foster who loves the pie plate as much as Marsali does. It’s her favorite place to sleep, to roll around and chase her tail, and just be generally goofy.
Did I mention Marsali loves the pie plate?
It took a few days, but Joanie is starting to play! Fred heard a ruckus yesterday morning around 5, and when I looked on the camera, I could see Marsali and Joanie chasing each other around the room. At this point, when I go into the foster room, both girls greet me at the door. Then Marsali goes to roll around in her pie plate, and Joanie jumps up into my lap. She stays for about 5 minutes, and then runs off to play. Turns out, she likes it when I toss toys. I’ll have to get video of that!

An old shot of Dewey so that y’all don’t forget what a pretty, pretty boy he is.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Daisy’s all “Kittens? Is that how you say it? Kit-tens? Huh. Well, I’ve never heard of them and I don’t want any, so you just keep moving along, lady.” (To be clear: no kittens yet.)
Marsali and Joanie spend a lot of time puzzled by those mirrors. I think they might think they’re windows – whenever they hear someone coming up the stairs, they go over and look in the mirror.

Squeaky Miss Daisy – and a little subtle alien belly movement (you have to watch closely to see it. And you still might not!)
Another week, another lack of kittens. Here are the belly comparisons! Last week we noticed that the babies had moved downward. This week, they seem to have kind of moved upward. Maybe they’re headed the wrong way. Or Daisy is sucking it in! She’s like “If the kittens come, I have to stop lolling around being fed, massaged and Churu’d all day long and I’ll have to tend to a bunch of little screamers. I see no reason to go that route.”
WAIT. Did you just stumble across this page and are about to offer advice because until this very moment I didn’t exist to you and therefore I probably don’t know what I’m doing and also I should be lambasted for “breeding cats for profit” (LOL)? Perhaps you’d like to know that Daisy is a foster for Forgotten Felines of Huntsville, a cat rescue here in Huntsville, Alabama. She was pregnant when she came to us, and she will be spayed when her kittens are weaned. (What’s that? Where you are, they spay abort and you disapprove? Okay!) Daisy’s kittens will all be spayed/neutered and available for adoption when they’re about 3 months old; Daisy will also be available for adoption after her kittens are weaned and she’s spayed.
Daisy is my 16th pregnant cat, so what to do when a pregnant cat goes into labor is not a mystery to me (if she wants me in the room with her to keep her company and offer emotional support, I do that. If she wants her privacy and to be left alone, I do that. The one giving birth is in charge as far as I’m concerned.)
Daisy had an x-ray before she came to me; they saw at least 3 kittens in there (probably more.) Kittens don’t show up on x-rays until 40 – 45 days into gestation. I did some math and figured she’d have her kittens as late as March 19th. She could go at any moment… or she could wait a few extra days just to show me up. What we’re gonna do is wait (impatiently) and see. She’ll have them when she’s ready, and we don’t get a say in the matter. PS: Daisy is polydactyl and we’re all hoping for at least SOME polydactyl kittens.

Marsali can entertain herself quite well, thank you.

Petting Daisy. She is such a sweet, happy girl. (If you look close, you might see a kick or two.)
Good night innernets. (Daisy says – “Oh, yeah. That’s the spot! Keep scritching there!”)
