Edited to add: 7:20 am: No kittens.
Mimosa checks out her toys. (Thus far, she seems to prefer springs, ping pong balls, felted balls, and the Da Bird teaser. She has zero use for any of the track toys.)
Bath time, showing off that belly.
Waiting for me to scratch her ears and rub her tummy.
So on Monday Teresa and Karen were here so we could organize and pack the stuff from the Forgotten Felines online auction. Teresa and I were in the middle of organizing something when I heard a very loud banging coming from upstairs. It went on for a few minutes, so I went up to see what was going on.
Mimosa was digging at one of the doors to the cabinet under the sink, trying to get under there. There’s nothing in the cabinet but food and dishes and cleaning supplies, so I opened up the cabinet doors and moved stuff around so that she could get in there and sniff around if she wanted. She didn’t really want to – it’s like she just wanted to SEE what was under there, and once she saw she was like “Oh, that’s boring.”
While I was up there, I opened the doors under the built-in window seat in case she wanted to check out under there, too. There are a bunch of cat blankets stuffed under there, and so she went into the cabinet and curled up.
“Well doesn’t this figure,” I thought. “I’m going to be concentrating on auction stuff and NO DOUBT she’ll be under there giving birth!”
As you’ve probably figured by now, she did not give birth on Monday. In fact, right after she curled up in the space under the built-in window seat, we had a small thunderstorm and I think she knew it was coming and wanted to be in a sheltered spot.
Both Teresa and Karen got to meet Mimosa and were amazed at how big she’s gotten (pictures don’t really do her justice.) Mimosa has no fear of strangers and was happy to be petted by them both.
We are currently at… oh let’s see. Got her on January 27th, so today we’re at 27 days. That ties her with Kristi and Caroline. If she doesn’t have them today, then she’s venturing into the blank space between Kristi and Caroline’s 27 days, and Margeaux’s 43 days.
As I did yesterday, I’ll edit this post when I get up to let y’all know whether there are kittens this morning.

“‘Kittens,’ you say? Kittens… Kittens… You know, I’m not familiar with the concept, but let me do some searching on the innernets, and I’ll see what I can find out. ‘Til then, a belly rub wouldn’t be out of line.”
Who do you imagine is 100% unconcerned with the fact that I want kittens? Is it this girl right here who has spent her day eating, watching birds, and snoozing on her favorite rug? It is indeed. She cares not one tiny bit what I want. MEAN.

No kittens yet, but I sure keep checking and hoping!

Watching the belly. It’s moving more and more these days. Maybe the kittens are lining up for the exit! (A girl can hope, right?)
Good night innernets. (Mimosa)
