I mentioned a couple of times that Fred was making a box so that the permanent residents could get out onto the screened porch from two locations (Alice is sometimes hesitant to go by the boys, and of course they love to flop down in front of the door that leads from the living room to the screened porch.) This is what said box looks like from the outside.
That window leads to the living room.
This is what it looks like from the side, standing inside the screened porch. There is a “doorway” between the box and the screened porch. If they go through the cat door in the window and into the box, the only places they can go from the box is either onto the screened porch or back into the house through the cat door. If they want to go out into the back yard, they have to go into the screened porch and then use one of those cat doors to go outside. (It’s set up that way because we close the cat doors to the back yard before dusk. The cats can go onto the screened porch at night, but not into the back yard.)
It actually took the cats no time at all to figure out how the whole thing works.
The cat door in the window (there’s a small set of steps leading up to the cat window.)
And the storm door with the cat door in it that the cats also use to get onto the screened porch.
(Yes, I am still planning to do a photographic tour of the house, I just haven’t found the time to put it together yet!)

Christopher Chutney in the sun.
Tia Teriyaki and Hannah Hollandaise tussling on the desk.
Theo Pesto and Sofia Soy Sauce are staying out of the fray.
Christopher Chutney’s all “Watchin’ you, lady.”
Molly Marinara is just the PRETTIEST girl.
I think I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I mostly keep the desk under the window, and that Molly Marinara uses it when she wants some alone time.

“GOOOOOOD morning, innernets!” That Christopher Chutney, he’s a happy boy.
I swear Molly Marinara looks like a cartoon here. (She had her eye on a Churu snack in my hand and REALLY wanted it. Of course she got it as soon as I took this pic – and Christopher Chutney got a slurp or two of it as well.)

Just a short one, but proof that Mama Molly Marinara does, in fact, play!
I got a fold-up desk to (hopefully) use to get pictures of all the kittens together. It works okay, although the reason the shelf at the last house worked so well is because it was up high and the kittens were hesitant to jump down from there. This desk is not all that high, and with the couch right there, the kittens didn’t hesitate to hop down. I’m not kidding when I tell you I had to get WILD with the feather teaser to hold their attention and get this shot.)

The kittens are wearing their crazypants. Zoom zoom zoom!
Alfie Alfredo would like you to admire the orange tabby patch on his belly, if you don’t mind.
Good night innernets. (Hannah Hollandaise, Tia Teriyaki and a little bit of Christopher Chutney)
