I have sad news about a foster from nearly 10 years ago. Creed, who was our foster in the summer of 2009 along with his brother Dwight and sister Phyllis, was adopted out as a kitten but returned in 2011. He was adopted out but then returned again in 2014. He went to Petsmart several times, but didn’t handle it well, and began overgrooming. The volunteers at the shelter fell in love with that sweet boy, and then finally in December 2016 he was adopted by a family who absolutely adored him.
Sadly, they had to say goodbye to him a couple of days ago – he was very sick, and they didn’t want him to suffer. I have no doubt that that boy was loved every single day he was with them. They didn’t have long enough with him, of course, but I know they made every day a wonderful one.
Here he is in 2009 as a kitten, and in early 2015.
You can read more about Creed as a kitten here, and in the post announcing his adoption here.
Our love and sympathy go out to his wonderful family.

Pa’s got his eyes on me, while Albert’s got his eyes on Pa’s tail.
They LOVE following him up that tree, can you tell?
Mary would like a little attention, please.
Goobers. (Albert & Willie, I think.)
Snoozin’ Albert. What a bunch of slackers.
In this picture, you can see that Almanzo’s eyes have turned green. Whyyyy can’t they stay blue?
Willie’s eyes look very blue in this picture, but they’re mostly green now, with a ring of blue around the outside.
The kittens are NINE week old today, can you believe that? Caroline is going for her spay surgery next week, and it won’t be much longer (3 weeks or so) until these guys are ready for their surgery, too. Time flies!

Bringing these houses with us when we moved from Crooked Acres was definitely a good decision. It gives Jake a good place to settle down and tune his loons.
