I took pictures of each of the kittens yesterday (so you can see how they look at 5 weeks old), but didn’t put together the progression collage for each kitten, partly because there’s not a lot of change in their faces since last week, and partly because I just ran out of time!
Caroline, keeping an eye on me.

The milk bar is crowded these days.
In case you missed the video over on Facebook/Instagram, Caroline showed us that she’s a bottle baby, too. (She gets her own small bowl alongside her canned food, but apparently decided the stuff in the bottle must be better!)
Pa keeps an eye on the kids. (They’ve started climbing to the top of the crate – and can climb back down again, too!)
I weighed all the kittens yesterday – you can see their weight chart at the bottom of the page, here – and they’ve all crossed the 1-pound threshhold. The heaviest are Almanzo and Willie (1 pound, 5 ounces) and the lightest is Laura (1 pound, 1.7 ounces.) I remembered to weigh Caroline while I was at it, and she’s now at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. That’s 4 ounces more than she weighed when the kittens were 1 day old, and nearly a pound more than she weighed when we first got her! I think she’s the first mama we’ve had who wasn’t skin and bones at this point, no doubt due to the fact that I’ve been supplementing with the bottle.
I put canned food in each of the kittens’ mouths yesterday morning, and they spit it right back out, called me bad names, and then demanded their bottle. Spoiled? Nahhh…
