For our Chewy product review this month, we are reviewing the Merrick Backcountry Grain-Free Real Salmon Recipe Freeze-Dried Raw Cat Treats. (And by “this month”, I mean September – I’m a day late with our review, because I’m a slacker.)
First up were the kittens.
Then he gave it a chomp. He liked the one he ate, but he didn’t want a second.
Then he batted it around the room. I guess he decided it was a better toy than treat.
Ponyboy concentrated very, very hard as he ate his. Check out those Ears of Concentration!
Then he told Sodapop what was what. Ponyboy was NOT sharing.
Basically – not really much of a hit in the foster room. What did the permanent residents think?
“That was good,” said Alice. “But no thank you, I don’t want another. I’m stuffed!”
I gave Archie one. He gave it a try.
“Nope,” he said. Then he got up and walked off, leaving his treat behind. I left it there, to see if someone would wander along and eat it. It was there for the rest of the day, and finally I gave up and threw it away.
“Lady,” said Dennis. “Stop following me around. I’m not buying what you’re selling.”
He ate one treat… but wasn’t interested in the second. These are clearly very filling treats!
Maxi ate one… and pushed the second onto the ground and stomped away.
“Heyyyy, lady,” said Stefan. “Whatchoo got?”
And, in the theme of this review, he ate one… but didn’t want a second.
“Don’t you have any ham?” he asked.
So, between the kittens and the permanent residents, the overwhelming opinion was a resounding “MEH.” Oh, well – they’re not going to love everything, right? Was worth a shot!
As always, the food is provided to us free of charge, and the opinions are the cats’, as translated by me. Thanks to Chewy and Merrick for letting us give it a try!
