Last Sunday (the 13th), the picture of Hook wearing a pirate hat was on GMA’s Spooky Pets segment! Connie got a picture of it, you can see it here (you don’t need to have a Facebook account to see it, it’s open to the public).
Selena said that there was a distinct lack of kitties on GMA, there were a lot of dogs but only two cats, so I think everyone needs to send in their pictures! Tweet your animal-in-costume picture and use the hashtag #GMASpookyPets . Do it now, do it, do it! I’m going to dig out a few pictures and do it myself.

Norbulletin!
Kirsten said: Norbie is doing well. Riley still wants him to GO AWAY, but except for some warning grumbles and the occasional hissy swat, there is general peace. There have been a couple of nose touches between Norbs and Claudette, and they chase each other up and down a long hallway (in a playful way, not she’s attacking him way)(I think!) so I am hopeful that they will become buddies. Claudette is a tough nut to crack, so Norbie is going to have to play his long game on her.
He continues to be sweet as pie and there may be a permanent dent on his forehead from all the kisses he receives.
Oooooh……so close!
Li’l charmer.
Thank you so much for the update, Kirsten! I sure do love seeing his happy little face again.

So yes, I am home! Okay, to be honest I got home late Wednesday afternoon, I just knew enough to build a couple of recovery days into the scheduled-ahead posts. What is it about being gone for four days that requires three days to get back into the swing of things, I ask you? I’m still doing laundry catch-up, and desperately need to vacuum later today!
I had a great time in Myrtle Beach and it was exactly what I needed, time to relax, hang out, and no litter boxes to scoop!
The kittens got HUGE while I was gone, and even our wee Tony is now over a pound. It’s all in his belly, I swear. He was a bit wheezy when I got home (though still eating and playing just fine), so Thursday afternoon I took him to the vet. He was such an angel on the ride to the vet – I thought about taking a second kitten along to keep him company, but they were all racing around like their tails were on fire, so I opted to just take him alone. He meowed a lot on the way there, but once we arrived he was curious and wanted to sniff every inch of the exam room. When the vet walked in, he ran right over to her, and of course she was charmed by his silly little self.
Ultimately, she put him on antibiotics which did the job almost immediately. He’s still on them for a few more days, but there hasn’t been the slightest hint of wheezing from him.
They’re 6 weeks old now, and just WILD. With all of them (and Livia) running around upstairs, it sounds like a small herd of elephants. They are WIRED and NUTS and BITEY. Exactly how a 6 week-old kitten should be.
Tony’s the smallest at 1 pound, 1 ounce. Paulie Walnuts is the biggest at 1 pound, 12 ounces. Silvio’s the second largest at 1 pound, 10 ounces. And every one of the girls is at a solid 1 pound, 8 ounces. The weight chart is at the bottom of the page, here (note to self: update the pictures on that page!)
All the kittens are eating on their own, but still nursing whenever Livia will allow it. Which isn’t as often as they’d like, of course, but she puts up with their shenanigans far more nicely than the little monkeys deserve. She’s such a good mama!
Kintaro (the tuxie cat we were cat sitting for Fred’s sister while she and her husband were in France for three weeks) went home on Thursday. She brought us some really good French and Belgian chocolates, which was a pretty awesome payment. It is SO NICE to be able to go up the stairs without having to move the baby gates, and every time I do, I think “Thank god that cat has gone home!” He was a really sweet cat (to humans, at least), but MAN those gates were a pain to deal with.
Okay, on to the pictures!
Tony, checking out the scratching post.
“What you want, lady? You go away for days and months and years, and you think I wanna snuggle you? You think WRONG.”
TEEF CHECK. Yep, Carmela’s still got ’em.
Carmela in the sun with the camera strap.
“Hi! Hi, camera. Hi!” (Silvio)
“Wait… am I going to have to pay for SEVEN college educations? Surely they’re not ALL planning to go to college… are they?!”
Paulie Walnuts, feelin’ bitey.
The look on Adriana’s face is cracking me UP.
And a video for you so you can see how BUSY these monkeys are.
