When I bought this little basket at Target, I didn’t really think that the ‘Mater kittens would be interested in climbing in it. But they were, clearly. And it’s easy to get them interested – I just toss a toy in the basket, and someone goes in after it, then hangs out in there.
I should add that I actually bought three of those little baskets, just ’cause. But they tend to all want whichever basket has a kitten in it already.
“He’s in my basket! I’m tryin’ to make him leave!”
“It’s like they don’t know this huge basket’s over here with plenty of room in it.”
“More room for me and my toys!”
Kennebec, checking out an empty food bowl.
Stompers is keeping an eye on Kennebec.
Kennebec decided to take down the whippersnapper.
And then Kennebec took off, leaving Stompers to wonder “Wha’ happen?” (If you look closely, you can see how Stompers’ eye color is changing.)
“I didn’t kick that little brat’s butt. I would never!”
And a Stompers video for you. He refused to talk to me much, but he sure is CUTE.
I’m leaving here in a bit to take the ‘Mater kittens and Stompers for their neutering. Fingers crossed that it all goes well (I expect it will go just fine), and tonight they’ll be racing around like nothing ever happened.
Jake in the bowl scratcher that had to be tossed because someone vomited all over it. But worry not: there’s a replacement on the way from Amazon as I type. That bowl scratcher is so popular that I had no choice but to replace it! (The official name of it is “Petstages Snuggle Scratch and Rest.” I’m imagining a cat who has so vigorously sharpened his claws on the thing that he has to curl up and take a rest. Which, actually, is pretty close to how it usually goes!)
