Snack Time in the Wonka Room.
They start out all behaving, staying each to their own plate.
Still behaving, but Gus is looking at Mike’s plate, thinking “Wow, his looks REALLY good!”
But then Violet goes right to see if maybe Veruca’s snack is better than hers, so Gus checks out what’s on Violet’s plate.
However, Violet already ate her snack, so Gus goes back to his own plate.
I took these pictures one day last week. I very quickly decided that carrying four plates of snack from the kitchen, up the stairs, and down the hall, was just asking for trouble from someone who’s as prone to clumsiness as I. I tried carrying the stack of plates and the bowl of their mixed-up snack into the room, putting the plates down on the floor, and then scooping the food onto the plates.
That resulted in all four of them attempting to climb up my legs when I wasn’t fast enough with the scooping.
I settled on taking two full-sized dinner plates, putting a one blop (that’s the technical term) of snack on each side of the plate (so each plate holds two snack-sized blops), so that each kitten got their own snack, but there was enough space so that no one would feel threatened.
Oh, it just doesn’t matter what I do, it all ends up being total anarchy. Everyone starts out with their own snack, then Mike and Violet gulp their snacks down and start sniffing around Gus and Veruca’s snacks. Gus is not as into the snack as the other kittens, so he abandons his as soon as someone else starts sniffing around.
(He’s such a polite fellow. Also, no dummy. He immediately comes over to me, flops down, and strongly suggests that I pet him.)
And then Veruca eventually follows Gus, leaving Mike and Violet to duke it out over whatever’s left on the plate. One of them ends up the victor, throwing up the Paw o’ Doom and growling to stop the other one from getting any.
It’s pretty funny, actually. I’ll have to see if I can’t get a video of them in action.
“Wait! Stop! NO! No more tickling! NO MORE TICKLING.”
“Who, me? Nothin’. I don’t know WHY I look guilty. WHAT? I was just sitting here!”
Pink/ Milano, warming her behind on the heating pad (turned on low. They don’t use it much anymore, but they like having it there when they need it!). I love how these kittens look like they’re wearing striped leggings.
Tell me TimTam isn’t giving me attitude here. I give and give and give, and does she appreciate? NO. She’s all “Sh’yeah, lady. WhatEVS.”
