It’s a Dewey pie! (My favorite!)
Sometimes nap time ends for me, but it continues on for the kittens, which I think is kind of rude.
Dewey and Huey pause mid-tussle.
All eyes on me. From left: Louie, Dewey (back) and Huey.
I can’t decide whether Huey is giving me attitude here, or if the sun is melting him. Maybe both!

Mama, who’s waiting for some pettin’.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
There’s the February 2025 calendar page all set. ☑️ (Louie, looking at Linzer, who’s looking at Ivy.)
Edited to add: In other words, for the 2025 calendar, I am going to use this picture of Louie in February. Louie is looking at Linzer (February 2024), who is looking at Ivy (February 2023.)
I was trying to get a picture of the way I’ve been carrying Dewey around recently. The top picture is using selfie mode on my phone. I didn’t think it had come out all that well, so I turned the camera around and took a mirror shot, and the way Dewey is looking at the phone like he’s approving the angle just cracks me UP.

Kittens in the crate being adorable… and kittens at the milk bar being adorable. They’re 3 weeks old – being adorable is what they DO.
Fun fact (I always forget that not everyone knows this) – before kittens are old enough to use the litter box (which usually starts around 4 weeks, though it takes a week or two beyond that for them to perfect their skills), their mother stimulates them to urinate or defecate by licking their back ends. And then she consumes the output. And while yes, that sounds UNBELIEVABLY gross to us, mother cats truly don’t seem to mind. Once the kittens start eating on their own (which usually comes AFTER they’ve figured out the litter box), it changes the taste of their urine and feces, and mother cats stop pottying the kittens.
There’s your interesting information for the day, and hopefully you weren’t eating lunch.
Not the best picture, but I’ve been trying to get a shot of Pumpernickel (left) and Crouton side by side, and finally managed it. (From this angle it looks like Crouton is bigger than Pumpernickel, but he’s actually the bigger kitten.)

Dewey and Louie, in my lap, are purring like crazy (Huey was busy playing, you can hear him in the background.)
Oh good lord, come OUT of the crate already, ya little slackers! (From left: Crouton, Pumpernickel, Pita’s face is kind of buried in the very back (but you can see her toes), Ciabatta is in front of her, and Babka’s in the very front.)
Late breaking news! I walked into the room to see if Crumpet’s litter box needed to be scooped before I went to bed, and found her lying in front of the crate with Ciabatta toddling nearby. He toddled around for a few moments, then turned around and went into the crate and looked out at me.
I never expected Ciabatta to be the first one out!

Ciabatta says “You won’t underestimate me again, now will you, Weird Lady!”
It’s always the one we don’t expect!
Excellent social media (late night posts) section. YAY for Ciabatta! All those pics are great and the calendar one is the best.
I often click on the links to posts in years past. I get sort of giddy when there is a post for every year. It used to happen more often when you used to post on the weekends. I looked today, with great puzzlement at only three past entries, and thought…Wow! It took me a while to realize… this is a leap year. DOH!
Those Ducklings are looking so good, and the Crumbs so adorable!
I was quite confused too! Thank you
I knew it isn’t a weekend.
I’d even seen the leap day post on Facebook, my brain cell is clearly napping.
I was surprised there wasn’t a post in 2020! (Must have been a Saturday or Sunday.)
Ciabatta! What an adventurous boy!
Inception kitten calendar style!
