Random comment I know, but I’ve just realised I’ve not seen the Frutasan in any recent posts. Did it finally give up the ghost, or is it safely stored until the Pops are old enough to love it as much as previous foster babies have?
The room they’re in is MUCH smaller than the foster room, so there’s a limit to what I can put in there with them. BUT I’ll probably go ahead and dig it out of the closet in the foster room and carry it over in the next few days.

Sodapop is such a pretty girl. Is she as chill as she looks in photos?
She is a very chill girl. Strangers and new situations can make her nervous – she growled at me every time I walked into the room for the first 4 or 5 days after I brought them home – but she adapts quickly. When Michelle was here to do the adoptions for Helix and Spiral, and Alley Oop, she wanted to see the little family. Sodapop growled when we walked in, but was okay with Michelle handling her kittens. And when the guy who adopted Andi asked if he could see her and her kittens, she growled at first, but after a few minutes she was approaching to be petted.
I wish she could talk, because I’d really like to know her history. At some point she must have lived in a house and people were kind to her because being in a house doesn’t seem to bother her, and she approaches for love and petting. (And at some point I suspect that people were unkind to her – she is very very aware of where my feet are when I’m walking across the room, as though she’s been stepped on or even (it makes me sad to say) kicked in the past.)

Posty up high, keeping an eye on me.
And (later) Stapler doing the same.
A note on that print hanging on the wall behind Stapler. That’s a drawing by Julie Kwon; I happened to spot it on Instagram and I ordered it immediately. It makes me laugh every time I look at it because I can SO relate. (You can follow Julie Kwon on Instagram here.)
Is it a Paper Clip pie? I think it is! (My favorite!)
Posty is 100% sure it’s time for Churu. (It was not; I was just scooping the litter boxes!)

All 4 of them are present in the picture; Poppi’s just hidden in the back.
If Sodapop’s face doesn’t say “You think you’re real funny, huh?” I don’t know what does.
Fanta’s head is so perfectly round.
Sodapop considers her life choices.
Sundrop’s constant baffled amazement just kills me.
Take a wild guess who the first kitten to climb into my lap was.

In lieu of a permanent resident picture today, please admire these birds Sodapop was eyeballing this week. (And kindly ignore the desperately-needing-to-be-cleaned window. I’m still not particularly wanting to climb a ladder to the second floor to clean the outside of that window, so maybe I’ll just move the bird feeder to the clean side of the window. That’ll work!)
(I fill the bird feeder by opening the window and reaching out to grab it, fill it, and reach back out to hang it. Fred’s in charge of guard duty – he keeps a hand on Sodapop so she doesn’t jump up and go flying through the window. She hasn’t actually attempted jumping up there, but it never hurts to be careful.)

Paper Clip, in my lap and purring up a storm. (Hopefully you can hear it over the exhaust fan that’s sounding like a jet engine in the background.)

In case you were curious, mama Sodapop does, indeed, play. She especially likes it when I toss toys for her!
Good night innernets. (Fanta, Poppi, and a little bit of Sundrop. Moxie is busy following her mother around.)
