For our Chewy product review this month, we opted to review the Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings Savory Mousse in tuna and goat milk flavor.
First of all, I gathered the cats – at least the ones who were around and interested in a snack.
Jake and Kara, who always get very excited when there’s food coming, did their usual mind-meld move while Stefan yelled “I AM STARVING AND ALSO JAKE GET YOUR TAIL OUT OF MY FACE!”
Then Jake tried to mind-meld with Stefan, who rebuffed the move. Dewey was all “Is the food coming TODAY?”
“I am starving so much that I can’t keep my eyes open,” said Stefan.
And… it was a hit! It’s a different texture than the cats are used to – “mousse” is in the name of the food, and that’s exactly what it looked like.
Everyone started eating their food and no one stomped off in a huff.
Alice, who can be picky (I know, you’re shocked), ate all of hers.
Jake enjoyed his (and considered running off when he saw that I had the camera).
Stefan thought his was awesome.
Frankie could not be lured from his heated blanket on the couch in the front room, so he got special service. He liked the food a lot and cleaned his plate.
Even Newt, who had been atop the kitchen cabinets ignoring my calls, finally came down and ate his entire serving.
Kara went around to the empty plates, checking for crumbs. But there were no crumbs to be found.
So every cat who tried the Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings ate every bite. It was definitely a hit, and I love that!
The Solid Gold Purrfect Pairing comes in several different flavors (we had tuna and goat milk) and is currently $8.34 for a case of 6 2.75 oz containers.
The food was provided to us free of charge, and the opinion was the cats’, interpreted by me. Thank you to Chewy and Solid Gold for giving us the chance to give it a try!

2011: No entry.
2010: Seriously, how ADORABLE were baby Sugarbutt and Tommy?

2008: I realized yesterday that I never told yβall any of Joe Bobβs back story.
2007: I really think that seven cats is just too many for us to have on a permanent basis. Six really feels like the right number for us. (Oh, poor naive, silly, deluded 2007 Robyn.)
2006: No entry.
2005: No entry.
What my eyes thought they saw at first was “Savory Mouse with Tuna and Goat Milk”. My eyes need me to get some coffee STAT π
Haha – the cats would probably love that flavor!
I love Kara SO MUCH!
It looks to me like Stefan is going to sneeze hugely from Jake’s tail in his face.
Loving the photo of Stefan – what a happy smile!
Jake + Kara = so cute! The Sheriff has a friend! I guess you’d never catch Maxi doing something like that.
π
π
You might, if the right kind of food was involved. π
If anyone is looking for the 2009 page… https://www.love-and-hisses.com/february-27-2009-rumba-and-samba/
love that food causing headbutting in your house (and the picture of Jake’s tail at Stefan’s nose is classic)
Food in my house occasions ear-cleaning. I haven’t figured this one out yet, and I doubt I ever will, so I don’t ask π
Kara with a tail in her face reminds me of the old “I can’t pay the rent” bit..
and the kitties over here really liked the chicken version of that food.
Jake <3 also, that picture of Stefan with Jake's tail in his face is just purrrfect.
Meow, this is so amazing to hear! We’re so glad the goodies were a hit with the whole furry family. π
Glad things were a hit but for those of you who can’t do the math in your head, that is $1.39 a can. (a little too pricey for me)
Where was Archie during this? Off killing kitchen towels with his bunny kick of death?
* snort * So how’d that Joe Bob Petsmart thing work out?
Yeah I know that his (stupid supposedly) forever people didn’t work out but still, I can’t imagine him NOT being at Crooked Acres with that indulgent smile and ‘I’m above this’ vibe.
I will remind you that we didn’t adopt Joe Bob until a year later, after Spot had died (and after Fred rescinded his “More than 5 cats is too many” rule.)
I don’t know where Archie was – I think he wasn’t in the house, or he would have been present!
Like I said, I can’t imagine him NOT smiling down indulgently at his fiefdom.
I’m just glad that you all were there when he was returned.
Fred actually left work and drove the shelter to get Joe Bob and bring him home. I tell Joe Bob that story from time to time, and end it with “When I realized he was willing to make that much effort, that’s how I knew Daddy really really wanted you.” π
It’s like a feline version of LION!
Oh wait…
