Sisterly love. (Mary with the blue ear, and Laura under her.)
Kitten hugs. (I think that’s Albert, but I can’t swear to it.)
Laura makes an excellent foot rest, apparently.
Albert’s a perfect little handful.
“Also watchin’ you, lady.” (Not sure, but I think that’s Willie.)
Bath time before nap time for the happy couple.
In an attempt to stave off boredom for Charles (because waiting around for Caroline to finish looking after the babies can be borrring for a guy), I bought him a couple of those toys with feathers attached that makes bird sounds if you toss or smack them. I opened one of the packages yesterday morning and tossed it across the room for him. He went after it and played with it for a few minutes, and then he snatched it up and trotted out of the room. I followed, and walked into the foster room behind him in time to see him drop it by the carrier the kittens are in, and then he chirruped at them. Dear lord, it was about the sweetest thing EVER.

AWWWW, sweet Papa Charles the Breadwinner (erm, Birdwinner)!
Charles is making up for all the other absentee baby daddies of past litters… That is the sweetest thing!!!
Mary’s little whiskers look delicious.
(As does Newt…)
OMG Charles slays me. What an awesome cat.
I love him. Such a good fella.
We had outside cats and they lived in an old shed that had shelves up high where they would sleep and we stored stuff below. The male cat was always hunting you would see him carting around mice, rabbits, and weasels. Went into the shed one day to find a whole line of critters, lined up heads to one side, tails to the other, must have been 8-10 of them.
He was bringing them to the lady cat to provide for his family…….. he loved her, but she was the alpha and very surly so didn’t want to show how impressed she was by old Karls hunting skills.
“She was the alpha and very surly” made me laugh out loud. Sounds exactly like Maxi was!
he took the kittens a toy….that’s it, I am officially dead from cute overload
Also, that picture of Laura under her momma’s she is all “I’m being smooshed”
Laura does not look too happy about the placement of Ma’s feet!
And Charles – OMG! I never really thought a daddy cat would be interested in his kittens. Do you think he understands that he’s their Pa? I’m not sure cats are capable of that level of reasoning — or even understand that kittens are the consequence of mating. Or is he just interested because he and Caroline are so bonded?
Yet again, Charles is my hero.
And you go, Newt!
I learn so much from your blog. The care and attention Charles is showing Caroline and now the whole family is wonderful and something I had never known would or could happen. Thank you again for opening up the world of kittehs to me. Just when I thought I knew it all, oops, you show me something new. My furbots have definitely benefites from your sharing.
CHARLES IS THE BEST DADDY EVER!!!
Yep, just died from the cute. And it brought back images of Tody doing very similar things with Stormy’s kittens. Don’t know if you saw my post or not a few weeks back about him carrying the kittens (5 total) to a whole other floor and Stormy watching him do it. So not only would he do that, almost daily, for a month he would bring them toys just like Charles did. Once they got older he had the BEST time rough housing with them. He’d let them win too, it was the cutest thing.
I love that Charles is here to help out.
That is SO SWEET!
This is a serious question. How does a tiny kitty like Caroline manage to feed those babies so well? I’m sure she’s eating you out of house and home, but as a group they seem to be bigger than she is already!
