Another weekend, no kittens. I do think we’re getting close, and yet that’s exactly what I thought last Monday. SO. Y’KNOW. WHATEVER.
“Pardon me, am busy watching that little dog next door bark. I think I could take her.”
“Pardon me, am having a snuggle.”
“Pardon me, am considering this bed as a birthing spot, just because you will freak out and be 65 kinds of worried, and that amuses me.”
In case you missed it on social media yesterday: this is Canasta last week (left) and yesterday. She gained just under 1 pound in 1 week, and has gained a total of 4 pounds, 3 ounces. (She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces when we got her, and weighs 12 pounds, 5 ounces now.)
The Google tells me that pregnant cats gain 2 – 4 pounds over the course of their pregnancy, so she’s on the high end of normal.

Jake has a sleepy. (That doll bed has a heated pad under the pad, and Jake appreciates the warmth.)

Yeah, I bet you could take her too, Canasta. And have those kittens in the crown bed, because why not.
I forgot to check first thing this morning, so I was sure that by the time I got here at 8:15 central time, there would be kittens!! Oh, well, Canasta –I’m sure you’ve got a good reason for not giving us those babies just yet! (And, yeah, I’ll bet you could take that little dog, too, even in your current state.)
Compared to last week, are her eyes popping out?
They’re open wider, is that what you mean?
I just love her little face!
Pardon me, am loving Canasta more and more each day. She is such a lovely little butterball and I can’t wait to see her little giblets and how she interacts with them. She’s a special girl, this one. <3
Your website and your Instagram make me very happy. However, Canasta is stressing me the heck out. Have the babies already so I can stop looking at my social every five minutes looking for them!!!
Hahahaha!! YES.
My goodness, Canasta is just EVER SO POLITE! 🙂
2:29pm ET check in…
Still no babies.
