Thank you, everyone who suggested a name for the upcoming kittens. The only problem is that reading those comments made me VERY hungry (and interested in trying all those breads I’d never heard of!) My names list is now a mile long, and Crumpet needs to have 100 kittens to use all the great names I’ve got.
2-4-24 would be an excellent date to have some kittens. Just saying (though I don’t think she’s that close to having them yet.)

Louie checks out the view from atop the Litter Genie while Dewey looks on.
Dewey on the side of the tub, bein’ cute.
Good lord, these three and their Precious Moments eyes!
Huey gives Louie a swat. “Hurry up! It’s time for breakfast!”
This morning I’m moving the Ducklings into the foster room. I am BEYOND ready to have my bathroom back, and those boys definitely need more room to roam. I imagine it won’t take them long to get acclimated to their new space!

As I took this picture, a ladybug came flitting down from the windowsill, and Crumpet gave it this look.
Then she flopped down for about three seconds before getting up and rubbing against me. I swear, this girl never rests when she’s got visitors!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Rabbit rabbit rabbit. 🐰 (Huey)
From Wikipedia: “Rabbit rabbit rabbit” is a superstition found in Britain and North America wherein a person says or repeats the words “rabbit”, “rabbits” and/or “white rabbits” aloud upon waking on the first day of a month, to ensure good luck for the rest of it.
Crumpet certainly does enjoy the pettin’.

Throw Back Thursday: In lieu of a video of Crumpet’s belly (still trying to get that!), here’s my very first alien belly video. Emmy, from 2012. She gave birth early the next morning to 4 kittens.
Throw back Thursday: Canasta in 2021! We thought she was pretty far along at this point, but we had nearly an entire month to wait. In the meantime, she slept on my lap a LOT (it was neat to feel the kittens moving) & made friends with Charlie. She had 6 kittens on February 26th.

Huey, Dewey and Louie were wild things this morning. They are all doing so well that I feel comfortable moving them to the foster room in the morning (or possibly this evening, depending on whether I manage to finish getting the room deep cleaned before bed time!)
Good night innernets. (Louie, Dewey, and the never-able-to-completely-relax Huey.)

Re bread-themed names for The Crumbs, has anyone suggested …Bagel, Focaccia or Brioche??
Crumpet – lovely name,- is so lucky to be in your care.
OMG…..Huey has stolen my heart! What a sweet boy!
Kittens as a door stop…why didn’t I think of that?!
It gets drafty up north in NY. 😉
The only problem, of course, is that if you want them there, they don’t wanna be there. 🙂
Can’t wait until all those buns are baked 🙂
I already want Crumpet SOOOOOO much! She is such a pretty girl.
On a different subject: I had such a happy/sad moment when I turned my calendar page yesterday……… Jake! My all time favorite (don’t tell the others) permanent resident, I miss him so much.
Robyn what do you recommend for flea treatment? Mine had fleas but i treated them and the house, but i still worry. I’m on a tight budget, but want them to have what they need. Also, do you recommend flea collars?
We use Revolution Plus on our cats (since they go outside into the back yard; it’s a flea/tick preventative), but on the fosters I usually use Revolution. I find that it works well – I do recommend using it year-round if you’re in a warmer area of the country.
I don’t really like flea collars and I feel like they’re less safe than topical preventatives, though I’m not sure if that’s true or just something I heard somewhere.
