Alice, keeping warm atop the printer. (I did not print anything out while she was sitting there, but don’t think I wasn’t tempted!)
Frankie near, Dewey in the background.
Jake was hanging out in the Jake Cave, and I tiptoed over to take a picture.
Checking out his escape route.
Stefan, havin’ a think while the Mister Boogers pillow looks on.

Aw, little sleepy heads…
Has Frankie been maintaining his bromance with Stefan/Archie/Dewey (I think those were his Amigos)?
When are there going to be kittens?? I love the Perms but I too have a house full of insolent, lazy, so-and-so’s and need some kitteny cuteness!
Does the poop colored paint have anything to do with it? ;P
Imagine something worse. Imagine when the poop-colored paint as trim makes your bathroom look … pulled together and complete. What do you do then?
I asked this yesterday, but I asked it sort of late in the day, so I’m not sure anyone saw it.
I brought in all-new bedroom furniture yesterday, and the bed is really, really high. Once the cat-spection was completed, and they started getting used to the new space, the bed got a 4 cats up (on the bed, that is). The 5th one was my old man, who has always slept on the bed but is too arthritic to manage the high bed. Does anyone have a set of pet stairs that they like and would recommend? I need about 25″.
I have a couple of wooden boxes of different sizes that I stacked on top of each other. Or you could temporarily use some stacked cardboard boxes of different sizes, maybe filled with books to weigh them down. Maybe you have some plastic bins around that you could stack up? Or a step stool hanging around somewhere? Just a few thoughts until you find a set of wooden steps to help your old guy get up to the higher bed.
I like to find fun uses for existing items, so those are some of the step ideas I have used.
I’ll post this question in tomorrow’s post – but until then, would something like this 3-level cat perch work? I bought that (I think) when Miz Poo was getting old and creaky, and put it next to my bed. She used it pretty often, and we still have it, it’s held up well (and comes in different colors). On the down side, it WILL get barfed upon, and carpeted surfaces are always more work to clean than wooden surfaces.
Also, I like the idea of using boxes for the moment ’til you get something you like!
My father insisted on a footstool for our heavy beast. Stubbed his foot on it every night but wouldn’t think of removing it,
so many great places to snooze
I clicked on the word ‘tempted’ assuming it was going to be a link to the famous ‘Cat vs. Printer’. How is it that I don’t recall seeing this Maddy on the printer video before? SO CUTE!!! 🙂
I don’t know how you missed it – I’ve shared it at least a couple of times (though not any time recently) AND it’s been on America’s Funniest Home Videos at least twice. 🙂 (As part of a video compilation, not on its own.)
Must just be my addled brain failing me then, since I’ve been reading your blog forever 🙂 That’s awesome that it was on AFV!
These photos are just so, so sweet <3
Oh the post from 2012 is full of Alice goodness!! It makes me want to give her some ham, just because! 😀
Miss Meshoo passed over the Rainbow Bridge today. She was in her sunny spot. I will miss this girl so much (she was mine before I moved and my friend was awesome and kept her so she didn’t have to be rehomed)
I’ll be getting her ashes and was going to make a diamond/gem keepsake. Has anyone done this? I’ve found a few places online.
Sympathies from a random stranger, sorry to hear about your little fuzzy one.
I’m so sorry
That second picture of Jake makes me want to kiss heeeeeem! And snuggle him lots.
Love the Mr Boogers pillow. I’ve been reading both you an Fred for at least 20 years, when my son died your journals kept me sane. Couldn’t sleep so I’d get on the computer and go right to all the journals I’d found. But by far, yours was the best. Loved everything you wrote and enjoyed reading about the Spud, who’s now out on her own. You have an empty nest except for all your adorable fur babies. You and Fred are angels here on earth for all your doing in the animal world. Just want you to know how very important your keeping a journal on line was and is to me. I was going through the worst pain of my life, losing my child, and your taking the time to jot down words in your journal got me through. I’m sure there are others out there that your journal has touched in one way or another. Please continue to post and add the adorable kitty pictures…..you make this old lady’s days brighter with each entry. Hugs to you and Fred
I’m so glad that the blog is a bright spot in your day, Mary – that’s always my intention, to be a bright spot (well, and to babble at length about cats and kittens, of course.) And I am so very sorry for your loss.
