Note: Canadians, please go ahead and request a card if you’d like – I’m happy to hang onto them and mail them once the strike is over! (And I hope it’s resolved soon, I can imagine how stressful that must be for you.)
Time to let me know if you want a holiday card, with this year’s featured Crooked Acre permanent resident! Go here to Postable, enter your name and address, and your card will be on the way soon. I am happy to send cards to other countries, this is NOT limited to U.S. residents. If you have any problems, drop me an email and I’ll do my best to fix it. I’ll take names and addresses until December 20th.
If you’d like to send me a card as well (never ever required, but always appreciated – I don’t keep track of who does or doesn’t send a card, I promise!), send it to:

(PS: If that link doesn’t work for you, or you prefer not to enter your info (I delete your name and address once I’ve downloaded it), you can email me instead.)

In case you missed it…
Sydney and Jeff were adopted (together) and went home Friday morning!
They were adopted locally here in the Huntsville (Alabama) area, about 45 minutes from me, and join a family that includes a gorgeous long-haired tortie girl who needed friends. They won’t be keeping their names (the adopters hadn’t agreed on names for them yet; when I know, I’ll let YOU know), and they won’t have a social media page. I will, of course, share any updates with y’all.
Today’s post includes the rest of the pictures I took of them while they were here with us.
If Sydney’s not IN the loaf pan, is she still loafin’? Is she UNloafin’?
The whole family, all “We don’t care if nap time is over for you, lady. We’re gonna continue on!”
The siblings – Richie in the front, Carmy in the back. Sydney on the left, Jeff on the right.
Richie and Sydney in the Santa bed.
And Richie and Carmy in the Santa bed, while Sydney looks on.
Why yes, I DID cut the hole in the top of that box to make it bigger so that when I try to toss toys into it, I have a chance of making it. The kittens don’t mind either way.
Richie and Jeff in the OTHER Santa bed.
And Sydney in the Santa bed, ready for a nap.
I got this box from Chewy, and it’s perfectly kitten sized. Sydney took her mouse into the box so the others couldn’t steal it (the mouse OR the box) from her.
Jeff, Richie and Sydney, loafin’.
And one last family portrait before Jeff and Sydney went home.
Tina, Carmy and Richie don’t appear to be missing Sydney and Jeff. They all saw me put Sydney and Jeff in the carrier, leave with them, and come back with an empty carrier. I don’t know that they actually have the ability to make the connection there, but they aren’t looking for the “missing” kittens, they just accepted their absence and it’s life as usual.
Still not sure exactly when Carmy and Richie are going home, but (I’m pretty sure I mentioned it already) Tina is going home in early January. I won’t be getting another batch of kittens or a pregnant mama before then, because – well – we still have fosters in the foster room, and we’re having guests over Christmas. So it’ll be a pretty quiet month here.

Alice Mo the calico is ready to do some hibernatin’, yo.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) this weekend.
Family portrait. ❤️ (From left: Sydney, Richie, Jeff, Carmy and Tina)
Hooray, hooray, Sydney & Jeff were adopted today! They join a family that includes a GORGEOUS young long-haired tortie girl. Their names will not remain the same (final names haven’t been decided on yet), and there won’t be a social media page for them, but I’m sure we’ll get updates!
Note on the suitcase: the suitcase itself is a prop – it stays here with me. Everything IN the suitcase went home with Sydney and Jeff. (And in fact… that’s probably 1/3 of the toys I sent home with them. There were a bunch more toys, along with a couple of blankets, a pie plate, and some Churu. Anyone who has adopted my fosters can probably affirm that I go a little nuts with how much I send home with them when they’re adopted. I want them to have familiar things around them while they’re settling in!)
“What?” Tina would like y’all to know that she’s not looking for Sydney and Jeff (who were adopted this morning, if you missed it), she’s not calling for them, she really hasn’t missed a step. She saw me put them in the carrier, she saw me leave with them, and she saw me come back with the empty carrier. I think she knows they’ve headed off to greener pastures and she’s fine with it.
Carmy and Richie are still here, too – I’m not sure yet when they’ll head home, I imagine it’ll be in the next couple of weeks. I’ll let you know when I know – until then, let’s just enjoy having them here for a bit longer. 🥰
Good night innernets. (Carmy (left) and Richie)
Guess I need to flip that bed over (the other side says “this cat is nice”) because Richie is NOT a naughty kitten. (Except when he is.)
Former foster Meander (who looks like a kitten in this picture) is reportedly turning out to be an excellent mouser. Go, Meander! (Thanks, Sharon!)

Sydney and Jeff were adopted (together) yesterday and went here locally in the Huntsville area. They join a family that includes a young (gorgeous!) tortie girl who needs friends. Here’s their “From hello to adoption” video.
They were 1 day old when they came to us with Tina (and Richie) and were with us for a little more than 3 months. They grew so fast!
Tina wondered if it was Churu time. (It wasn’t, but she was patient – mostly patient – until it was!)
Rabbit rabbit rabbit. 🐰 (Tina) From Wikipedia: “Rabbit rabbit rabbit” is a superstition found in Britain and North America wherein a person says or repeats the words “rabbit”, “rabbits” and/or “white rabbits” aloud upon waking on the first day of a month, to ensure good luck for the rest of it.
Carmy hanging out on the Churu desk, just in case Churu happens.

I was double-checking the Popcorn Kittens video before I posted it a couple of days ago, and Carmy came to perform a quality assurance check. (It got his approval.)
It’s endlessly fascinating to me how much these two look alike when they are not related by blood. (That’s Richie up top, and Carmy on the lower level.)

Tina was feelin’ kneady, and Carmy was feelin’ needy. Richie was just taking a bath and chillin’.
