Churu gives Nacho the crazy eyes.
Licking their lips while waiting for another slurp of Churu.
These girls really like to hang out on this thing.
The kittens had someone come meet them yesterday – someone who was interested in a pair of kittens – and it didn’t go very well. I love our quiet life, but a downside is that fosters generally only see the two of us during their time with us, and as a result they tend to be shy with strangers. With every litter, I vow to stretch their boundaries as much as possible by separating them for short periods of time, letting them “visit” other areas of the house, and even going on short rides in a carrier in the back of the car. With this litter life got in the way and I haven’t really gotten it done. They’re fine with us, but with the strangers yesterday, they were NOT having it.
It worked out okay for the potential adopters – we ended up going to Petsmart, and they adopted some other Forgotten Felines kittens, an adorable pair of sisters.
Though obviously none of us want them to go to Petsmart, it’s looking more and more like that’s going to end up happening – though with Christmas less than two weeks ago, I don’t see any point in them going before then (and I’m not sure there’s room for them at the moment anyway.) I keep hoping and hoping the right people see their faces and fall in love (and realize that kittens who make a terrible first impression end up being pretty darn amazing. For instance: Milo (formerly Mike) wanted NOTHING to do with his people when they came to get him. A check of Instagram and Facebook shows that he is a perfect fine, well-adjusted boy.) I know their people are out there somewhere – I just kinda wish they’d hurry it up, you know?

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Kittens: organized, mostly. (Top to bottom: Nacho, Francesca & Saul. And you have no idea who annoying it is to me that I can’t get them to arrange themselves in alphabetical order. If I try to rearrange them, they flee. Hmph.)
Do you remember these sweet faces? Gray and white kitten Brianna (who is now Filly) and tortie Jenny (now Cricket) are growing up, and aren’t they beautiful? It’s been about 3 months since they were adopted and went to Kentucky, and they’ve clearly settled in. And they are so so loved (and oh so delightfully spoiled). Don’t you love a happy ending? I sure do.
(Thanks, Patti!)
Kim’s face is cracking me UP. She wants Francesca and Nacho to give her some space, apparently.

Nacho and Francesca (and to some extent, Saul) certainly do love that feather teaser. Boing boing boing!
Saul has discovered the sink and would like to report that it’s comfy.
Good night innernets. (Kim Wexler)

In the Mommas and kittens calendar, Jocasta and Brianna is my favorite. Seeing Brianna talk with her mom (by peeking in the mirror) is adorable!
That’s one of my favorite pictures, too!
I’m sensing that Filly and Cricket are a little spoiled.
Good for them!
Christmas is a stressful time to get a new pet, for the pet and their people, with all the hubbub, as you know. So after Christmas will probably be better anyway. I can’t believe no one has adopted these cuties already though. I hope they don’t have to go to Petsmart but if they do, they do. They’ll be fine.
Hmmm, maybe visitors should be in charge of handing out the Churu snax.
I thought of that, but the people didn’t seem too interested in the kittens once they refused to come out of hiding. Which is fine! They were nice people, and I’m glad some kittens got adopted anyway.
