Okay, not much going on here, just, you know…
MAGOO AND JOE PICKLE GOT ADOPTED LAST NIGHT!!!!
TOGETHER!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And also:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think y’all can imagine how very very thrilled I am that those sweet boys got themselves adopted together!
Look who it is!
That’s Pearl (the kitten formerly known as Dandelion) with her brother, Duke. According to Amanda, Duke’s wagging tail is Pearl’s favorite new toy. What I love about this picture, aside from the look on Duke’s face (oh good lord, SO CUTE!) is how relaxed Pearl is. Look at her back there, happy and playing with the best toy ever!
And here they are, posing together. Could they be any cuter? I don’t think they could!
Speaking of the Weeds girls, I stopped by Petsmart yesterday because I needed to buy litter and a few other things, and of course I went by the cat room to check on Purslane and Thistle. They were curled up in the bed together, sleepily grooming each other. I thought about going in to snuggle with them (and with Magoo and Joe), but I didn’t want to get them all worked up. They were clearly on their way to sleepytime, so I just stood and watched them for a few minutes. They weren’t stressed in the slightest little bit, which I was glad to see!
The boys, checking out the long-legged stuffed cheetah I bought at Petsmart. It’s technically a dog toy, but I thought they might enjoy playing with it. They were certainly interested in it, and gathered around and gave it a good sniffing.
I’m pretty sure there was a mix-up and the stork delivered a puppy to Brandywine instead of a kitten. Dingwall Scotty loves to play fetch.
Sungold disapproves of this dog-like behavior.
Honey Badger Dingwall Scotty don’t care.
Mr. Stripey keeps an eye on things.
I don’t think he approves, either.
Ciara was on Love Meow recently, which made me think of her and what a sweet girl she was. And such a PRINCESS. These are my two favorite Ciara videos. Girlfriend always had something to say. (PS: She was adopted with Coriander, one of the Spice Girls.)
Looking at the page for the McMaos, I’m thinking that I really need to make a point of putting up pictures of the fosters when we first get them, and then again right before they leave us. I love seeing the difference!
Kara is the ONLY cat in this house who still requires a collar so that she won’t go over the fence in the back yard. I hate it because it’s so big and ugly and bulky, but if it keeps her safely in the back yard, wear it she will. Even if it RUINS my pictures of her pretty face.

Please thank “A” for sending the pictures of Pearl (my Dande) and Duke. They made me smile…she looks so happy…which makes me happy!!!!!
I am soooo happy for Joe and Magoo!!!! Merry Christmas, boys!!! MUAH!
Marvelous news and marvelous photos. Go, TrhP and Joe, and how great is it to see Pearl and her handsome swain? Meanwhile, the boys in the bedroom are so handsome and personable. As for Dingwallace’s come-hither look: Work it, boy!
so happy Magoo and Joe got adopted together. π i also have a cat that fetches. Cherise a beautiful tortie girl. My two boys Aiko and Buster look at her like she’s gone mad *giggle*
What awesome news…some really lucky folks got to take Magoo and Joe Pickle home…I am soooo jealous…those two are the bomb!!!
Pearl and Duke…my heart is going to burst from all the cute…looks like her forever home is the best place ever with that fluffy toy…
Kara’s cranky face would stop me in my tracks…so serious and lovely
I’m so happy for Magoo and Joe Pickle, and for the fact they’re going to live together! And the pictures of Pearl and Duke – priceless! And the pictures of other great cats, guests and residents of the Crooked Acres – awesome, as always. Thank you:)
Yippee, on the adoptions! The photos of Dandy & Duke, great! Pearl is now the reigning princess of the house, and Duke has that “long-suffering” look on his face in the first picture!! LOL
My grand-nieces’ dog, Ozzie, visits here a lot (he’s here today) and totally ignores cats. It’s amazing, even the outdoor strays aren’t afraid of him. However, my two dogs have never quite accepted my two cats, and the cats run from them. Sigh.
Oh, his face cracks me up – he’s like “Mom. Seriously. Make her stop!”
The best news ever to hear that Magoo & Joe are at their forever home together. It makes my heart so happy!!! And I love the pics of Pearl and Duke..what an adorable pair. Such a happy way to start my day π My cat also fetches, it is such a funny sight to see her come around the corner with a ball in her mouth and she places it at your feet. You know its play time.
What good news Robyn! Santa sure has been working overtime with all the adoptions you and Kelly have had. WTG!
Oreo half-plays fetch. My daughter is delighted when she goes running after toys. She is still working on the bringing back part though my daughter is continuing to work with her π And Kara’s look seems to say, “This collar is the worst thing in the world. I will never get hired to be the centerfold of Mz. Kitty with it on. OTOH, I like my day job with this family.”
\o/ for forever homes! and \o/ \o/ \o/ for forever homes together!
Pearl is a trip – and that dog looks so put-upon.
Thanks for the Pearl pictures. She’s definitely found her forever princess home.
My cat Lily is very doglike, loves to welcome everyone at the front door, and will fetch objects over and over and over again (and again and again).
Here’s to forever happiness for Magoo and Joe Pickle at their new home.
Yay for Magoo and Joe!!! (Though a part of me wanted Magoo to come back!) And when I saw the post by their new dad, it threw me for a minute when he said “Joe and Tony” because it’s been so long since we called that boy by his proper name! π
Pearl and her puppy are precious!
My late sweet Baal loved to play fetch with rubber balls. I like to think it’s a black cat thang!
Post by their new Dad??? Where?
Challenger’s House has a facebook page now.
There’s an unofficial Challenger’s House Facebook page, you can see it here, and Magoo and Joe’s Dad posted a couple of pictures of them exploring their new house.
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! I’m so glad their new family FINALLY showed up! Now I can uncross my fingers. (They were starting to cramp.) Boo, my tortie kitty, also likes to play fetch, although she only fetches to the spare bedroom, no matter where in the house we start.
The pics of Pearl and Duke are precious. LOVE them! Cara is right – Duke does have the “long suffering” look on his face – way too funny.
I am SO glad Magoo and Joe got a forever home for Christmas. What great news.
Joe Pickle and Magoo – together in their forever home = wonderful news!!!! Lucky boys they are.
Pearl (nee Dandelion) and Duke are adorable together. When in Huntsville, a co-worker (living in Toney) introduced me to Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They are so cute.
Thanks for the smiles this morning.
When I was in college, we had an orange tabby kitty named Boz. He had been the runt of the litter and kind of had that batboy look going on. He loved to fetch aluminum foil balls. He would store them under the couch and whenever he felt the need to fetch he would dig out one or eight and drop them at your feet. We would throw them down the hallway and he would fetch them and drop the ball in front of you again. The game of fetch could go on for hours – especially when it developed into a drinking game. Whoever Boz dropped the ball in front of had to drink. Silly college kids….
Well, here I’m crying over the good news of the adoption! And the picture of Pearl and her brother would make a wonderful Christmas card. So cute!
So good to know they were adopted, and together too! That is wonderful, also how well Pearl is settling in to her home.
Our Ellie will fetch her favorite thing of all, a ratty-looking shoelace which she helped herself to from a stash of my DH’s. (He saves them for whatever shoe might need it, not to play with!). She’ll bring it and drop it, and you either have to let her chase it around and around, or toss it, and she’ll find and bring it back. She’ll do the same with those hair elastics, endlessly. She loves to do this when I’m on the laptop and I tell her she’s keeping me from sitting too long (the ‘new’ smoking, you know…ugh!). Daughter calls her puppy-cat.
OMG – Joe and Magoo together?? That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! (wait, it wasn’t Fred was it?? haha)
Love Pearl and her new dog brother. What a pair of cuties!!
Oh, and while no one here plays fetch, Bourbon likes to carry toys around like that too. The littler boys have picked up the idea, but they walk around growling at everyone while they do.
Pearl and Duke!!! I faint from the cute!!!
And no, nothing could take away from the lovely Kara, but it must be said: she doesn’t look particularly thrilled to be wearing the collar, either. π
I’m so glad Joe Pickle and Magoo are together! π
My Charlie is a fetcher, too. And I love the picture of Pearl an Duke together. So cute!!! π
New adoptions?! Looks like the sidebar needs updating! Sheriff Mama looks like she disapproves of… something. “Whatever you’re doing, stop it!”
Ha – the sidebar ALWAYS needs updating! π
Yay!!!!! Joe and Magoo together forever!!!!!
The pic of Pearl and Duke with their matching floof all over is to die for. Just lovely.
We don’t have any fetchers in our house, not even the dog, not really anyway. But we do have one, Pogo, that is like Miz Poo and carries around whatever toy he deems is his “kill” while keening about it the whole time. He’ll drop it in front of you or near you, get his praise and then go on about his business.
My Orange Tabby Ezekiel will wander around the house meowing through the toy mouse in his mouth.
I love Dingwallace’s bikini!
Me too! β₯
Let me just say this… My morning routine always, ALWAYS, consists of checking my work email, checking facebook, then checking love-and-hisses, and out the door to work. It’s the only routine I have with my weird travelling job… This morning, everything went wrong, and I missed checking love and hisses, and I haven’t felt right all day.
I also had a cat that loved to fetch! She lives with my parents now, and she will fetch wadded up balls of paper.
Magoo & Joe Pickle adopted together… how awesome is that. Looks like you dodged the ‘always room for one more’ bullet this time. So glad they finally got the forever home they deserve.
Princess Pearl and kitty toy Duke= totally cute.
