The kittens came through their surgeries just fine – it turned out that Carmy was cryptorchid (had one undescended testicle), so they had to do an abdominal incision to locate/remove the offender. They said he might be a bit sore for a few days, but other than that all was as usual.
When I got home with them, Tina was NOT HAPPY that I’d taken her kittens and replaced them with kittens who smelled like the vet, and she had a lot of hissing and growling to hand out (to the kittens, that is – not to me. Though she sure did complain a lot to me!) By bed time she was a lot calmer, but still didn’t want them near her. However, she’s pretty much been of the opinion that they should just leave her alone for the past few weeks, so I’d say things are pretty normal.
Richie, Carmy and Jeff check out the area of the living room we call “Khal’s playground.” They found it intriguing.
Carmy took a look at Auntie Alice – in her heated pink cube – but didn’t bug her.
Three of the four, curled up to nap.
And the fourth, also curled up to nap. Yes, that’s a blop of Churu on his nose.
Richie’s all “What doin’, lady?”
“They LOOK like my kittens, but they don’t SMELL like my kittens, and I’d like to know just what you think you’re pulling, lady.”
Richie has a think. His eyes are so pretty!
Sydney and Jeff have a snuggly snooze.

Khal can’t believe I let those kittens play on HIS own private playground. The NERVE.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
The kittens (from left: Sydney, Richie, Jeff & Carmy) are off for their spay/neuters this morning!

Jeff and Richie have a tussle (and mama Tina says “Oh, I’m not getting involved with THIS.”)

Tina’s got one of the GOOOOOD catnip toys and she doesn’t want to share. She’s also getting tired of Carmy’s nonsense!
Home again, home again! The kittens came through their spay/neuters just fine. Carmy was cryptorchid – had one undescended testicle – so needed a small abdominal incision to locate/remove it. He’ll be a little sore for a few days, but other than that, everything was normal. They’re all a tiny bit wobbly, but had a light lunch and are finding places to curl up and nap. Tina is A TAD BIT IRATE that I took her kittens and replaced them with these funny-smelling replicas, but she’s already less hissy/growly than she was when we got home an hour ago.
It’s nap time, and former fosters Phoenix (front left, fostered in 2017) and Amber (right; formerly Ambercup from 2015) are holdin’ paws. Awww, how sweet is that? (Thanks Debra!)

Baff time for Carmy: Jeff tries to get the vet smell off of Carmy, and Carmy’s not complaining.
