Yesterday morning Carmy said “What we doin’ today, lady?”
Well…
Yesterday was auction shipping day! (Remember the online auction from last week?) See all that stuff? It needed to be packed, and this here at Love & Hisses central is where the action was happening.
(Teresa was here Monday, and it took us about three hours to get everything sorted into bags so that we knew what was going where.)
Over the years I’ve amassed quite a few shipping supplies – folding tables for sorting/packing, lots of padded envelopes. Naturally the kittens needed to snoopvestigate while I was setting up.
We use a LOT of bubble wrap on packing day, as I’m sure you can imagine.
The look I got after I told Richie I was going to stuff him in one of those mailers.
Carmy checks out their box o’ paper (and toys), which I put in the hallway so we wouldn’t accidentally use it.
Sydney found a little piece of plastic and batted it around.
And Jeff and Richie had to come check it out too.
All told, it took us – Karen, Teresa and I – about 3 hours to get all the packing done – 75 packages! They’ll all go out via UPS (except for the very few that are going through the post office), and if you receive your package, start to open it, and it EXPLODES in a flurry of bubble wrap and tape, then you probably got one of the packages I packed. I believe in lots of bubble wrap and tape. The more the better! While we were packing, the kittens occasionally played, but mostly curled up and napped. At one point, Carmy approached Karen for some petting, though when she tried to pick him up he was AGHAST and was all “Madam, we are STRANGERS!”
Tina just stayed in the foster room and had a snooze.

Last month I was opening the blinds in my bedroom one morning, and looked down to see Charlie and Khal in the back yard.
Khal heard me open the window to take their picture, and jumped up in this chair to give me a look. He looks like two eyes in a puddle of floof, doesn’t he?

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
Sydney went burrowing under that blanket and then popped up and sat like this for several minutes. She’s a goofy girl.

Tina loves that dangly mouse toy. (Again: great toy, but don’t let your cat play with it unsupervised, please.)
Tina’s all “Lookit me, I’m a loaf!” Indeed she is (and also my favorite.)

It’s a sleepy Richie with his fishy… and his brother Carmy, who he loooves.

Wow, what an undertaking to package and ship all those auction items; truly a labor of love. Looking forward to receiving MY package from this auction!!! 🙂
Haha re. Carmy and Karen – he has his limits, after all.
Love the pictures from above of Charlie and Khal!
Ooo I hope I get a good box!
