I will never not laugh out loud at the Downfall of Senator Stanley J Boogerton. And how in the world did it take me so long to notice “Washington Journal” on the tv behind reporter Spot J And3erson?
I love that post too, all these years later. And that picture of Spot with the “Washington Journal” on the TV behind him is just the BEST.
Also, in Shelby’s Precious Moments picture, are those tiny ears of annoyance I see?
Oh yes indeed, that girl has gotten really good at showing her annoyance!

M’lynn is such a sweet girl. How’s her heat?
She went into heat Friday (or at least that’s when I realized she was in heat!) and by Monday afternoon she was out of it. Fortunately (I think I’ve mentioned this), their first heat cycle after having kittens tends to be a short one. And now there’ll never be another one!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do nursing kittens make it better or worse for M’lynn’s heat cycle? Inquiring minds want to know.
I think it might make it a bit more bearable – having them crawl all over her and nurse and play with her paws isn’t the contact she’s LOOKING for, but it is physical contact and judging by the volume of her purring, she wasn’t hating it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How is Shelby handling sharing her mom with 3 other kittens?
She seems to be handling it well – she doesn’t mind having a teeming pile of kittens on and around her mother, and she does get a little extra attention from M’Lynn, so I think she’s happy.
Have you ever named or thought of naming any fosters after The Toy Story or Cars film series?
I have not – I think the Toy Story names have been used by Forgotten Felines before, and probably the Cars names, too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you think Shelby will be a floofy cat?
I don’t think so, but I would be perfectly happy to be proven wrong!
Drum and the post-breakfast thlurrrp.
Ouiser’s letting her breakfast settle.
A little thlurrrp from Clairee.
This picture is from Tuesday. I do NOT usually have those boxes in the living room, but we were getting ready to pack the auction winnings (we always do it at my house – Teresa and Karen do the packing (the hard work!) and I handle the shipping part.) They didn’t stop Charlie from getting to his beloved cat tree, though!
Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Happy Thlurrrpsday, and please admire the thlurrrping provided by Ouiser (top) and Drum. Excellent form, kids!
Throw Back Thursday: Hydrox and the chicken, December 2009. (I am just linking to the post rather than cutting and pasting the whole thing here.)
Throw Back Thursday: From 2007, orange tabby Peyton jumping at his sister Jesikat, and putting the ol’ chomperoo on her while he’s leaping. I love this picture so much.
Life in the kitten room – kittens jumping in and out of the basket from Trader Joe’s, M’Lynn admiring herself in the mirror, and Shelby trying to get a tussle going with Clairee.
Throw Back Thursday: from 2020, when I had 10 kittens lying on me, one walking alongside next to me, and there were another 5 kittens in the room not in this picture. That was the Vittles litter, and they were a hot mess, but also the very sweetest bunch.
Mid-tussle with Drum, Clairee sneaks in a little thlurrrp in honor of Thlurrrpsday. (And I didn’t notice when I took the picture, but please check out Shelby back there, trying to watch the fight through the gaps in the basket.)
I have never seen Senator Boogerton’s downfall before. That was hysterical. Thanks for posting it. So much fun. It looked So real, how you didi it I can’t figure out. Those little rascals !!!
Oh, I loved the Downfall of Senator Stanley J Boogerton. Who were the cats in it? Were they residents or some of the fosters?
Kathleen, I’m not Robyn, obviously, but I am a long-time reader and they were all permanent residents at the time, and all crossed over the Rainbow Bridge by now, sadly. You can read more about everyone on the Permanent Residents page, the link is in the sidebar–tap the “Permanent Residents” banner right below the social media section, then scroll down to the “Gone But Not Forgotten” header partway down the page. “Miss Pootstein” was played by Miz Poo, “Senator Boogerton” was Mister Boogers, “Reporter Spot J. And3rson” was just simply Spot. “Thomas J. Cullen” was a young Tom Cullen (or just Tommy, to those of us who knew and loved him during his tenure at Crooked Acres!), and the hilariously clueless “Spanky G. Pyle” was Spanky.
