So, as you can no doubt tell (unless you’re reading this in a feed reader, in which case you may go on to the next section because this will make no nevermind to you), Fred finally got my new design installed. It’s not completely to where I want to be yet (I need to slap together a new banner for the top of the page and add the rest of the fosters to the left sidebar, among other things), but for the time being, if anything looks particularly wrong to you, or you can’t find something you’re looking for, feel free to drop me an email or leave a comment and I’ll see if I can’t figure it out.
(Edited: does the blue background make the text hard to read?)
This blue basket lives in a corner of the kitchen, and it’s no surprise that I got these pictures of Hutch going “Oooh, there are toys in here! I like toys! Look at the cool toys!” and Starsky’s trying to figure out how to get a good bite on the basket handle.
Sweet Rhyme. I determined over the weekend that Rhyme’s personality is a lot like that of his half-brother Mike (of the Wonkas). Is he a happy boy? He is SUCH a happy boy. At night he gets up on the bed and flops right down between Fred and I and purrs and purrs and purrrrrrrs.
I’ve perhaps mentioned that when I go outside, the cats – especially the Bookworms – like to gather around me. Here are three of the four – and you can see, since Reacher and Corbett are next to each other, just how thin Corbett is. He’s perfectly healthy, and he eats just fine, he’s just a skinny cat. Reacher is the biggest of the Bookworms.
Spanky claims the basket as his own.

Can’t wait to see the new banner! I STILL haven’t done one that shows Teego, but it’s still just about less than a year from when he arrived.
Shame on me!
Not to be a poo-poo-er…but I don’t think I like the new look. The gray is depressing and it is all just a bit sterile…..sigh. Sorry. Maybe it will just take time to get use to.
How ’bout a little more blue? π
Weird….it renders gray on my screen.
Howzabout yellow and green? (I’ll admit, I kind of like this color theme, but I’m afraid it could be a little TOO bright for some people.)
This design came with several different color themes, obviously. π
The colour schemes that get me excited is that on the Bookworm boys’ backs. BEAUTIFUL! I have always told my cats what a lovely pair of slippers they’d make, and now we have a tabby/white boy, he gets told that just about every day. Still, my old black and white boy was with me nearly 17 years, and he never got made into slippers, even though he heard it a million times, so I don’t think any cats are in danger here!
I agree, Attila – my Bookworms would make some beautiful slippers. π
::pouts:: I liked the old design better. This new one is awfully busy for my poor old eyes. But I guess, as long as the content remains the same, I’ll put up with it. π
Sourpuss: I did like the old design, but it was impossible for me to bend to my wishes (so I could put what I wanted in the sidebars), thus the change. I think this yellow and green design is a little too bright for me, though!
(But I appreciate your putting up with it. π )
I know sidebar stuff can be important but, for me, your lovely & humourous daily entries are first & foremost so I’d suggest a template where the main content is on the left with the sidebar(s) on the right. I think it’s easier to adapt to a format like that because we naturally read from left to right and that way the sidebars may end up being less distracting. Ultimately, though? I come here for the kitties (just like everyone else) so as long as they’re still here, I will be, too.
I have to admit I liked to old desgin better too – the yellow and green are really hard for my eyes and detract from your great pictures! You end up focusing on the sidebar content instead of the main blog entries. Maybe something a lttle less flashy would be easier for readers?
I have such a huge crush on Corbett, and absolutely love seeing your photos of him – I hope he finds a family soon! π
I have to admit, the sidebars are a bit busier than I expected them to be. I think I’ll keep this design for now, and keep looking for a more fitting one (that I can make look the way I want!)
WOW!! Look at your new blog!! I have to get used to it as I’m so used to the other format!! Wow!! It’s great – the pics are still the same gorgeous quality so yay!! I can’t wait to see your new banner though – that’ll be fab to look out for!!
Awww beautiful Starsky and Hutch!!! And the Bookworms! Gosh I can really see the difference between Reacher and Corbett!! But siblings tend to be like that – my sibling kitties were all so different in weight and body mass!! Very weird!!
Great to see lovely Spanky claim the blue basket back! π Take care

Awwww. You’re making me wish I could steal sweet purry Rime and keep him. Alas, Wisconsin. π
Chanter I know how you feeel – Id like Rhyme too as he rminds me of an old cat we once had in our family. UK here though… π
