I’m off for shoulder surgery this morning. It’s pretty routine surgery, I don’t expect any issues. Surgery is scheduled for 11:30; I’ll have Fred post something on the Love & Hisses Facebook page, and if someone would come post in the comments to let the non-Facebookers know that all is well, I’d appreciate it.
For the curious: last Novemberish, while I was painting my bathroom and was on a ladder several feet in the air, I started to fall. I stopped myself by grabbing the shower rod, and hurt my shoulder in the process. It felt better after a couple of days, and then it didn’t. I went for physical therapy for several weeks and thought I was cured. I went back to the orthopedist, expecting him to say “Looks great! Come back if it bothers you again!”, but instead he bent my elbow at a 90 degree angle, pushed it juuuust a little bit outward, and when I picked myself back up off the floor he said “If it was going to get better, it would have by now. You need surgery.”
I fully expect that I’ll come through surgery just fine. I also hope that I do not, while under the influence, tell my surgeon that he reminds me of Sam the Eagle.

I’ve pre-written and scheduled posts (with random pictures, and pictures of the permanent residents; some days will have more pictures than others!) for the next three weeks (I have zero clue how long my right arm will be out of commission), and of course at the bottom of each post are links to previous years’ entries, which are always worth another read.
I’ll be able to read comments, but won’t be around much; I’ll see you in a few weeks!

Look who it is!
It’s the Peanut formerly known as Pattypan! I suspect not much gets done without her snoopervision!
(Thanks, Kim!)

One of my favorite Mister Boogers pictures EVER. I actually printed this picture out on a label, and slapped it on the side of a tin of Crooked Acres-grown catnip, and it makes me smile every time I see it.

Oh Archie, you and your Bratty Resting Face.
Archie and the Ears of Annoyance (back in the spring, before the ground was dry enough to use the lawn mower on those weeds).
He’s just such a pretty boy, isn’t he?

In this day and age I have absolutely no use for a wall calendar with outlook, my phone calendar, etc.
However, I am so tempted to get that “In Memorial” calendar. Just to see those sweet, missed faces again.
Good luck with your surgery, I’m sure Sam the Eagle will do an excellent job.
Good luck on the surgery.I’m sure everything will be fine.
Just saw on Facebook that the surgery went well!
Yay! Thanks for keeping us non-FBookers updated!
Seconded — many thanks and much relief.
Get Well soon! Sam the Eagle! LOL
So glad to hear everything went well, Creepy Arm and all! Hey, maybe you’ll wake up in the morning to find that Creepy Arm has made you a 4-course breakfast. I would have Fred taste it first, just in case.
Don’t know how they affect you, but my husband had crazy vivid dreams on those painkillers after surgery.
