“Lady,” said Tina. “The children are old enough. Load up the school bus and get ’em outta here!”
So I did! And we “drove” (they rode in a carrier) from the foster room allll the way down the hall, through my bedroom, and into the nursery.
They checked out the school room and were very excited. “We’re gonna learn so much!”
Richie learned that he was not interested in running the Chef Shrimpy’s truck.
Carmy learned to tilt his head and look adorable. (Though I’m pretty sure he had that skill before he started school!)
Then Richie climbed up top and looked around.
He worked on his leaping skills.
Then she leaped again, while Richie was climbing the soda can. (You can get your own soda can right here, by the way!)
Jeff took a leap onto the cat tree.
And eventually they all settled down for a snuggly nap.
What did Tina do while her kittens were off at school?
I left the kittens in the nursery for about 5 hours, and when I took them back to the foster room, Tina was… well, not THRILLED to see them, but she wasn’t sad to see them, either. She was mostly like “Oh, there you are. Hi.”
My plan is to “send the kittens to school” every morning for about a week, and then swap them – let Tina go into the nursery and let the kittens stay in the foster room and see how it goes.

I don’t know how that can possibly be comfy, but Charlie assures me that it is.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Richie, Jeff and Sydney are 8 weeks old (and Carmy is 8 1/2 weeks old)! They’re continuing to do great – they’re eating great on their own, and except for Sydney they’re all over 2 pounds/907 grams. (I suspect Sydney will pass the 2 pound mark in the next week.) I haven’t had to supplement feed anyone in a couple of weeks, they’ve got this “eating” thing solidly figured out!
“I give up! I surrender! Put the cuffs on me – I am guilty of being the cutest cutie who ever cuted! Ya got me!” (Carmy)

Tina gets some snuggles while we watch Carmy and Richie play. (Sydney and Jeff were busy snoozing elsewhere in the room.)
“We used to all fit in the cubby, didn’t we? I think it shrank!” (Top: Jeff. In the cubby: Richie and Sydney. Front and center: Carmy)

Tina is getting tired of these kittens and their shenanigans. (She does have a couple of places up high where she can get away from them if she wants to!)
Good night innernets. (Richie & Jeff)

Just wondering on average how many hours a day do you spend with the kittens or what a typical day fostering looks like. However much time it is we get the benefits of that with your great posts and videos Thanks
Haha i very much enjoyed this school trip of theirs! And I bet Tina did too.
Carmy no longer looks “big” compared to the other kittens! And all that floof hides the fact that Sydney is the smallest.
Well now, that was a very exciting school day for the kids!
(I a-l-m-o-s-t missed Sydney sitting there in the bus driver’s seat in picture #2!)
