Troi and Spock watch Uncle Newt walk through the living room.
Kirk gives Uncle Khal the ol’ snifferoo, and Uncle Khal is all “How dare.”
Uncle Khal gets a sniff from Janeway, and didn’t seem to mind it.
Uncle Khal makes a stand (er, a sit.) “They can play in my playground IF THEY MUST, but this is MY track toy and it’s off limits to them.”
Trixie on the front porch, Kirk inside. (Before you start with the “Awww, Trixie wants to be FRIENDS with the kittens!”, I must inform you that just after I took this picture, she hissed and smacked at Kirk even though there was a window between them. She does NOT want to be friends, thank you.)
Kirk is all “Auntie Alice, I think you want to be friends.”
Auntie Alice says “I have enough friends and I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE.”
Kirk hopped up onto the table, perhaps thinking that Alice might want to be friends if he was closer, and got the ol’ smackeroo for his troubles.
Alice was all “I ::slap:: told ::slap:: you ::slap:: I ::slap:: don’t ::slap:: want ::slap:: to ::slap:: be ::slap:: friends! ::slap::”
And Kirk was all “I’ll just wait here ’til you change your mind. ::SMILE::”
The kittens are outta here for their spay/neuter surgeries this morning. I expect all to go well, and for us to be back here by early afternoon, hopefully.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Janeway LEAPS! into the day. (I love that I caught her with all 4 feet in the air.)(And yes, she made the jump to the bed perfectly.)
Kirk, Kes and Janeway discovered the big tree, and they REALLY like it. (That is a PiCasSo cat tree, made by Molly and Friends. I got it several years ago at Home Goods; I don’t think they make it any more.)

We refer to this area of the living room – the rug with the track toys on it – as (permanent resident) “Khal’s playground.” There are kittens in his playground, and Uncle Khal ain’t thrilled about it, as you can tell by the Back of Disdain.

Good night innernets. (Kirk believes in sleeping comfortably.)

Awww, bless Khal for his benevolent oversight of the playground.
And:
Alice Mo
The calico
Sure does hate them kittens
Yo
She hates them so so so much. And they ALWAYS want to be friends with her (like the way cats always flock to people who do not care for cats or are allergic.)
Kirk standing straight up tall like that in the big tree, back feets splayed on the curved part and front feets gripping the upper level (and a slightly loony look on his face), is one of the cutest things EVER.
He is SUCH a little nut!
Alice can MOVE when she’s mad! And it looks like there have been a lot of kitty shenanigans at your house recently. Fun!
How can Trixie resist such a pretty kitty?? Kirk really is adorable! I mean, they all are, but I think he’s going to be one of those cats who looks like a kitten for his whole life!
It’s too bad Alice doesn’t like other cats, because I can envision Alice and Trixie sitting side by side and talking about how much they hate kittens. The grumpy Aunties. 🙂
I love Kirk. Smacked and snipped in the same day and still a friendly, sweetie boy kitten. And his little-big purr! Please give him extra kisses for me when he returns from the vet?
He (they all) got ALL the kisses!
After I read the entry and comments, my phone suggested “Cat communication” and “The Corbomite Maneuver.”
And I still think Kirk is just so adorable!
