Back in 2016, we had a litter of kittens we called the Fakers, including these two.
Bert Macklin (left) and Art Vandelay.
Art (the white and gray kitten) is now Patches, and Bert is Periwinkle/Peri. They were adopted together, and shortly after they were adopted, they looked like this.
Annnnd this is what they look like now!
All growed up! Oh, those smug faces.
I love it when siblings get adopted together and stay BFFs. (I also love it when they’re adopted singly and make best friends with their new brother or sister. Truly, I just love everything about adopting kittens into great homes, is what I’m saying.)
(Thanks, Kristin!)

Our girl Kristi is now at Petsmart – as of Saturday – and while she’s got the Resting Kristi Face going on, everyone who’s met her agrees that she is the SWEETEST.
Did you immediately see the most notable thing about this picture? Kristi is NOT hiding in the litter box. She’s out, in her bed. She doesn’t even look nervous! This picture was taken soon after she arrived at Petsmart, so that she’s just sitting there is wonderful. She’s getting a lot of love and petting from the volunteers, and I can’t imagine it’ll be long before someone falls in love with that serious little face. Fingers crossed!

Archie’s watchin’ for birds and squirrels. (He has the prettiest eyes, doesn’t he?)
Oh, that Khal. Such a GORGEOUS boy!

I was a PetSmart yesterday and had a chance to pet Kristi. She is such a sweet, soft and lovable girl. Kitty Boot Camp has done wonders for her. She will make somebody a wonderful pet.
Thanks so much for the signal boost about Magic, Robyn! Here’s hoping this gets his info out to where it needs to be so his new family can find him quickly, and my friend’s older kitty can relax again.
Awww. So sweet to get an update from Kristen.
I can’t help thinking of one of the best videos ever: Bert’s first day with the new legs, https://youtu.be/xrCk5wWjnh0
I laugh, and laugh, and laugh, especially Robyn’s “goober” comment at the end.
Oh, those sweet Fakers! What little dolls they were, and look at them now!
And it looks like Kristi made it through Kitty Boot Camp and is now ready for her next chapter. She so deserves is, pretty girl…
So, I’m looking at Archie and Khal, and thinking: “wha’? No snow…? Oh right. That’s because IT’S ALL UP HERE IN CANADA AND THE NORTHERN US. *swearing*” And while I’m at it, please tell me what that ethereal glow is around Khal? Could it be this “sunshine” I’ve heard so much about? I heard it generates heat, is that true? I wouldn’t know, BECAUSE WE HAVEN’T SEEN IT SINCE PONTIUS WAS A PILATE.
OK.
Brigitte, I love your colorful and descriptive comments—always make me laugh, thank you!
Aw, thanks feline42! 🙂
(And thanks to Robyn for making this blog so comfortable and inclusive!)
Oh, if I were only near enough*… If a) Wisconsin were closer than half a country away from Alabama, and b) I were allowed to have pets in this apartment, Kristi would have a home. Seriously, I still have a gigantic soft spot for Ms. Dilute Tortie Talkerness Lovebug over there. I continue to be delighted that she turned into a people kitty! Whoever adopts her is going to hit the gold ring for sure. 🙂 I sincerely hope that, whoever they are, they keep us updated!
*… Who am I kidding? In my ideal dream world, I’d have had room, ability and landlord approval to bring home more than one Internet semi-famous kitty over the years. Kristi for one, Clarice Madison at Whiskers In The Window, Dion at Catonsville Cats (I still think about her and wonder where she is now, is that completely bizarre?) and possibly Marie from 50 Kittens. That doesn’t even get into the beloved local shelter kitties I’ve known. In said dream world, they’d all be coexisting peaceably, and I’d be covered in multicolored cat hair and happy as a clam. Hmm… three torties of various shades, and one silvery grey. That’d be a colorful house of purrs.
So love seeing smug and snug foster kittens. So happy to see them happy and lazy. We should all have such lives.
Thank you Kristen!!
