Does Archie prefer to conquer the flour sack dish towels or the fluffier terry-cloth ones? Or whatever’s hanging there is just asking for it?
We use flour sack dish towels exclusively, so I’m not sure how he’d be with a fluffier dish towel. I suspect he wouldn’t care – it’s more about location than the type of towel, I think. We have two dish towels hanging in the kitchen – one in front of the sink, one in front of the stove. He kills the one hanging in front of the sink on a regular basis, and as far as I know has never touched the one in front of the stove.

Here are the OTHER cats who were in the cat room at Petsmart (Jones Valley, Huntsville, Alabama) when I cleaned Monday evening.
His sweet brother Scout. These guys remind me a lot of the Players litter.
And their sweet sister Molly. She’s a total doll.
Riley (who did not appreciate Clutch’s tail encroaching on her picture.)
Riley from above (such a serious face!)
And Robin from above. This girl is a little poser!
Renly, who is a total sweetheart. Don’t you love her little pink half-mustache?

It’s been rainy, and the cats do not appreciate it. Some – like Dewey – are spending all their time snoozing in warm places, and others (ARCHIE) are being jerks and picking fights.

Ooh our cat Lettuce would be a fight picker in the rain. He gets very grumpy and sad. His pattern is:
~ He asks for door to be opened. We open inner door and walk him to outer and open it. He walks half out outer door and sees it’s raining, pauses, comes back in grumpily.
~ Five minutes later he asks for door to be opened. We open inner door and walk him to outer and open it. He stops in front of opened outer door, looks at rain, walks back in grumpily.
~ Five minutes later he asks for door to be opened. We open inner door and walk him to outer and open it. He stops half way from inner to outer door, sees rain from distance, looks up at us, walks back in.
~ Five minutes later he asks for door to be opened. We open inner door. He doesn’t move and just sits there staring up at us mournfully as if to say “But it’s raining!”.
Yeesh!
That reminds me me of a book I read years ago where in the winter the cat would go to every door in the house. When each one was opened for him, he would be unhappy with the cold and go to the next door to try to find which one was the door into summer.
Yes! That is so sad and charming at the same time, ha. Oh my goodness this is Lettuce to a tee. Poor boy, I give him lots of strokes when it’s raining and he follows us around the house in a mope.
I’m pretty sure they think the rain is our fault!
Ha, I can imagine! Or if not our fault, they at least think we somehow have the power to ‘fix it’.
Well we have the power over light and dark as well as rain in the bathroom, so they thin we are not doing our job when it is raining outside.
Ha, very true!
apparently Archie has been sending out notes to other kitties about the towels. I hung one off the front of the stove the other day and it ended up dead on the floor. no one has yet confessed to the crime
It’s spreading!
I noticed Molly and Burt have tipped ears. Are they TNR failures (like foster failures)?
I believe so – they were probably trapped to be TNR’d and then spayed/neutered & ear-tipped before they were discovered to be friendly.
