For our Chewy product review this month, we received ZiwiPeak Daily-Cat Cuisine Venison Canned Cat Food. We hadn’t tried ZiwiPeak before, so I didn’t have any idea what the cats would think.
That’s Dennis’s leg next to the stack of cans. He likes to come up onto the counter to hurry me along if he thinks I’m taking too long to get the food on the plates.
And he’s no dummy – he knows that if he’s on the counter, I’ll give him his plate first to get him out of the way. I guess he’s got me trained.
Half the permanent resident population in one picture!
Alice took a moment to decide whether she wanted to eat this unfamiliar food…
The only permanent resident who didn’t immediately like the ZiwiPeak was Dennis, who took a few bites and walked away. But then he eventually turned around and went back and finished his plate of food, so I guess he changed his mind when the food hit his belly.
I decided that our mama-to-be deserved to give it a try.
So, it was definitely a hit with everyone. I like it when that happens!
Thank you to Chewy.com and ZiwiPeak for the opportunity to review this food. You can find it here.
As always, the product was provided to us free of charge; the opinions are the cats’, as interpreted by me.

As a result of the 2007 flashback entry, I ran across the following:
“I’ll be leaving Smallville around 4 this afternoon to drive to Madison, pick up Joe Bob, and take him to the pet store. Yes, after he’s been with us for something like two months, it’s time for him to go and possibly be adopted. He’s adapted really well to life here and he’s such a sweet boy, but I really think that seven cats is just too many for us to have on a permanent basis.”
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! And HOW many Permanent Residents are in that top picture INCLUDING Mr. Going To The Pet Store??? 😉
Mock if you must, but he actually did go to Petsmart and get adopted and then returned – we didn’t adopt him until a year later, after Spot was gone. 🙂
I’d completely forgotten about that! For some reason I had it in my head he came back after a brief stint at PetSmart.
But the “comfortable” number of Permanent Residents remark still makes me chuckle. 😉
How many of the permanent residents went up for adoption?
I’m going to save this for Friday’s post!
My cat Simon had to go on a prescription diet and since I’m not mobile I ordered from Chewy.com. They contacted my vet for the script and I got on the automatic refill program which helps save more. I’m really impressed with their service and to top it off, they sent us a hand signed Christmas card. I thought that was very nice. I buy 10 thousand percent more from Amazon and they didn’t send me a card. It’s nice they have that program for you.
I was going to ask, besides the cats and George, what do you farm at Crooked Acres?
that was nice of them!
We have chickens and have had pigs in the past – and of course, most summers we have a pretty big garden. None of that is for commercial sale, though – I think we’d be considered a hobby farm.
I love watching cats enjoying a good nosh — great photos and captions, Robyn, especially of those calico girls! Ziwipeak lamb is my guys’ favorite food ever, and I’m a confirmed Chewyite thanks to Love and Hisses.
I’m too lazy to check, but isn’t that a new kitchen counter top? Very nice. Not as nice as the kitties, of course:)
It is newish – I think we had it replaced about a year ago. We got a new sink at the same time – I like the whole thing a lot better than what we had, but we really need to do something about the backsplash, even if it’s just to paint it. (We do not move quickly around here, that’s for sure.)
Aw, Denny-bun, helping mommy with the plates. What a good boy you are!
my kittehs also enjoy ZiwiPeak Venison – esp the jelly on top. It’s from New Zealand – just like the Flight of the Conchord guys. Although they are not edible
Transition one of my new adopted kitties to ZiwiPeak recently and he loves the Rabbit & Lamb and Venison as well. I’m especially impressed that ZiwiPeak is grain-free and closest to a natural raw diet. My other kitty prefers chicken flavors only and have her on Weruva’s Paw Lickin Chicken. I love purchasing from Chewy.com and they have the best prices, greatest selections, fast deliveries and their customer service is outstanding! While I’m not a fan of dry kibble, I do supplement with Orijen’s Cat & Kitten dry and Regional Red. Their coats are shiny and silky and no digestive upsets, vomiting or diarrhea. I know I must sound like a commercial, but I have had many years of frustration finding quality, grain-free wet/dry cat food that is free from by-products and fillers that can cause food allergies and other nasty digestive upsets. Thanks to you Robyn and your fur-babies ‘taste testing’, I found Chewy.com and reviews like this are so helpful as well as the reviewers on Chewy:-)
We too are fans of Chewy.com. We have all the cats on a hypoallergenic food due to one of the cats’ problems with pancreatitis. We had a similar experience as Cheryl. Chewy.com contacted the vet, got the script, worked with me to figure out the intervals for shipping and voila! everything is working perfectly. Their customer service is very good and the price to have the food delivered to my door is cheaper than driving to and buying from the pet shop. Plus there is a box for the kitties to play in every couple of months. Can’t beat that. Thanks Robyn for turning us on to Chewy.com. I would not have heard of them without you.
